@Mimbus: It is not freedom. You are on a narrow path with choices. Like I say with the choose your own adventure books. It is just forks in the road that all pretty much lead to the same place. And just like those choose your own adventure books you do not have to live with the choice. You just go back and take another fork in the road.

And to your challenge. ANY elder scrolls has more freedom. I mean BG3 not even open world the very map is a hallway.

@HAWK9600: I totally agree with OP RDR2 is garbage.

And people who say RDR2 or BG3 are good games would of loved the 80s choose your own adventure books. Mediocre stories you could make minor changes in by your decisions. Just like narrative/story driven games.

Because the best video game story in history is at best a paperback on the cheap shelf short story.

@gunnyninja: could only happen to you if you were not paying attention. Someone nukes your camp there is a zone wide alert and you have plenty of time to just log out. And it does nothing anyway. Anyone can wreck your camp. But to repair it costs little to nothing and sure as heck a lot less than the ammo and armor the guy attacking you used.

@kvkrishnakanth: Destiny xpacs all been on monthly free games. And does not really matter. Only xpac that matters is the newest one so having all the old ones means nothing anyway. Destiny 2 is a game you either pay for both the xpac and season passes or you do not play and it is designed that way.

@mogan: And? You not going to convince me that BG3 is such a milestone in gaming achievement as to its use to defend an entire decade of garbage in gaming.

I do not like Persona 5 and have never got its popularity either. But I guess I also did not waste 70 bucks on Persona either and was fooled by the fanboy hype on it either.

BG3 picks a particular bad nerve with me because I have actually become pretty good at spotting those games that are pure hype and disappointment to follow. And it fooled me.

@mogan: Think we have had this discussion before. And you still do not understand the difference between popular and good. 10s of millions of people watch reality tv and gives them good reviews does not make a single one of them good. 100s of millions eats MCdonalds hamburgers does not make them good.

IS things i like I know are not "good" and i fully admit it. Take Star Trek TNG. It is a cult following no one watches it because it is good writing or good acting because it is not. But still is one of my favorite tv shows of all time but I will not sit here and tell you that millions watched it so it has to be the GOAT.

On the other hand I hate Breaking Bad. When it is great acting great writing well made series. But i recognize that it is a good show i do not like.

BG3 is not good on any level. Just a genre we do not see much and for good reason. Because it is slow and boring just like divinity games. I love rpgs i love tactics style games. BG3 should be something I at least am interested in. But it had no appeal at all.

@Psyny: bg3 is straight garbage for anyone that is not some dnd super nerd. Everyone every single gamer i know who bought it was "why is this even called a decent game".

And no i knew my games were janky back in the day but every day every year you seen MASSIVE improvements.

Want to compare game releases in 10 years in "my day" and today. And compare advancement in gaming in that time? Just look at 1980s to 1990s in comparison. Now look at past 10 years. Pretty sure there a heck of a lot of difference between adventure and Super mario. Than what released in 2014 and what has released this past year.

Heck I do not even need to look I bet whatever released in 2014 were better games and more of them than this past year.

This not some kind of crazy old man sees it differently type situation this is reality.

And is exactly my point games WERE decent and more plentiful. We get less and less good games. I mean look at the list. How many 20+ year old games are far better than BG3 orPersona trash.

Sad almost every game is over 20 years old. How is it with far more companies are more resources far bigger market. We get less and less decent content every year?
