Overpriced $350 for last gen graphics, 8 or 32GB HDD, slow OS(after update still slow) required gamepad that lasts 3-4 hours, No optical input, cant rip Audio discs. Dont know who the Wii U was catered for. Its features set is very lackluster. Top it off they called it Wii U trying to draw in casuals, yet it hasn't and wont work this time.
Well they should of dropped the stupid Wii brand. Thats their fault. Though ofcoures they used the Wii name assuming all the casuals who bought the Wii would buy the U. Will not happen. Should of called it Nintendo HD or something.
I compared a Mario game to a Mario game. If you cant see the similarities dont know what else to say. Uncharted like AC? How do you even get that? The reason Mario Galaxy feels like Mario 64 it has the same exact controls. Run around double jump triple jump, backwards jump, long jump. Almost the same animations. Collect the stars etc. Its the same template. It has the gravity gimmick and stuff but it still feels like Mario 64. Mario Sunshine feels just like Mario 64 as well. Has the water gun but the gameplay is exactly the same. Ive played through them i dont know how you dont see it. Mario, Zelda, Kirby, Luigis Mansion, Pokemon, are all casual. Time consuming isnt the same as difficulty. Nintendo games have gotten easier and easier. They even gave Fire Emblem the casual treatment. My 9 year old nephew 100%+ Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Well honestly just because there are different mario games in different genres doesnt mean Nintendo needs to keep making them again and again when they are almost always the same. Mario sports titles, Mario Party, Paper Mario, Mario VS Donkey Kong/minis, Mario Kart. Mario Galaxy may have spherical worlds and all but its pretty much Mario 64 in space. Zelda and Kirby are too casual. My ex GF has beaten all modern Zeldas and shes hardly a gamer. Kirby is just pathetic.
Where are the original games from Nintendo? Nintendos first party titles have become just as half assed as their last 2 consoles. Wii upconvert Pikmin, blah Mario Kart. Wii fit U is pointless considering Casuals are not buying this system. Smash Bros may be good because it sounds like they will completely overhaul it. The biggest reason Wii U is selling so crappy is because casuals are not buying it. 3/4 of Wii sales went to them.
It has nothing to do with the system not looking fun. The bottom line is the system is not attracting casuals. The reason for the Wiis success. Now for real gamers who dont own the system. We know that there will be another Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros , Mario etc. Where are the original games? I wont get one till the OS(ya its getting patched but i want out of the box faster) is fixed comes with a bigger harddrive, longer Gamepad battery life, more games support the classic controller etc. The gamepad seems like an inconvenience to me just like the Wii mote though.
Well i hope Epic Mickey 1 or 2 were not considered AAA or had the budget of one. They were both pretty bad. It used probably the most famous cartoon character yet the games have horrible limited animations. Bad production values period. Paint/thinner was completely stupid for a Mickey game. Then he does co op\AI partner ugh. For months leading up to Epic Mickey 2 all he was doing was talking about these improvements. Blah blah blah game turned out shit and he disappeared.
Its not fun to keep playing a series that every game builds to a conclusion but their never is one. Just a cliffhanger. AC3 should of just ended the series. The whole point of the series is the present time. So if the world is saved whats the points. Oh ya they made Juno bad all the sudden. Who cares anymore. Im pretty sure the storyline now is no where near what the original intent was.
