That's terrible. You bought a game, you should have the right to install it how many times you want. Nowadays I don't even feel as though I actually own my games. Steam or Origin can take them from me at any time. Which in my eye it stealing from me.

I heard about that origin nonsense that if your fourm account get's banned all your games are unplayable. Modern gaming is fine but the way in which it is distributed needs to be changed.

Exactly my thought. I'm ok with Steam because of my experience with it and I trust Valve, but I am strongly opposed to having an entire other service so I can run ONE GAME.

You can have it both ways imo. Either you agree with today's standards, using clients as DRM, or you don't agree at all. Saying Steam is fine but Origin is not is not fair to each company. Why are you giving Steam praise and bringing down another client if they do the same thing?

It's not my problem if it's not "fair." Steam is a well designed interface that I already keep all my games on. EA just decided to be greedy and try and create their own little world where they can reign down their restrictions and day one DLC.

You already bought the game. I don't see how it would be bad for you to just download it off pirate bay and crack it.

I thought about this, but I was paranoid about viruses and I have no experience with torrents.

Thankfully EA sent me 5 new activations within 2 hours of my email, so I guess I just got lucky.

With the release of Mass Effect 3, I decided to replay Mass Effect 1 and 2 because my old saves were long erased and wanted to refresh the story as well. Now I've discovered that apparently my origninal Mass Effect has reached its "limit" on installs and it wants me to buy a new key. I only installed this game once or twice, and that was years ago on the same computer, but that HDD has been wiped and new hardware has been put in. What can I do to play the GAME I PURCHASED?

It uses SecuRom, that's why it's telling you that you have reached an install limit. There should be a revoke key for it, just Google it.

I know it has a SecuRom on it, but how can i revoke something that doesn't exsist? The orignial install has long been wiped clean

It has Online pass so not interested

nightshade869
lol really?? You have got to be kidding me. Do you have something against the people who make and publish this game making money? That's like me going to your work and thinking about buying something until I realized I had to pay you for your services.

You both are at other ends of the extremes. While I usually won't refuse to buy a game because of an online pass, it really is the developer's greed and hassle for honest gamers.
