As the title says. Before I get into it. I am not a PC fanboy. I own a PS3 and play X360 at friends often. I do prefer Keyboard and mouse for FPS.

I'm hearing some common phrases. "PC Gaming is not popular anymore" "Not a lot of games are coming out for PC" "Consoles are better"

Ive wondered why this is happening but its because PCs are being brought down by consoles. Are consoles really better? The answer is no but they do have a larger customer base and thats where the money is. Companies are focusing on consoles first then PC. Crysis brought alot to the table for the PC. I think the programmers are close to getting those kind of graphics out of the X360 and PS3 with some limitations. However if I built a new pc rig right now, it would be way more capable then the current gen consoles.

I watched a Modern Warfare 2 graphic comparison on gametrailers today between the PS3, Xbox and PC. PC looked the best obviously and the x360 looked a little better than the PS3 "kinda of surprised". Theres also been a backlash against the PC version. It just shows the PC gamers are out there and have a voice.

I don't think PC gaming should or will die. Yes it takes a certain person to put all that money into a gaming machine. Most of the time its only on a upgrade like a better graphic card. Its just the initial cost that gets people. It's been a tough time though and theres been a huge transitions in the PC gaming world since x360 and PS3 with, AGP to PCI express, XP to Vista, DX9 to DX10. It took a toll on these gamers pockets. Who wouldn't want to only shell out $300-400 and just be done with it. So the popularity with consoles is understandable.

My whole point is PC gaming will come back, it may just be in the form of an upgradeable console. The PC has always been the backbone of "whats possible" in future consoles. At some point "and Ive stated this years ago" Soon there wont be a difference between a console and your PC. They both do the same thing anyways. Just give us what controls we desire and will play it.

I just tried getting into this site and the front advertisment page that loads is stuck in a loop. You click "Click Here to Continue to GameSpot" and it just repeats. It willalso repeat after the alouded time. I'm using Google Chrome with the newest flash. Did the same thing in IE7. In Firefox I had to click a few times then it went through. Thought Id let you know.

COD 4 has a great multiplayer and a decent single player , while Far Cry has a somewhat decent single player and a horible multiplayer. I agree with dannyw7982xAngels_Assasin
Thanks x. Between just single player campaigns what will have the most replay value? I'm so burnt out with online FPS. I have Crysis but the AI is kind of on the retarded side. Its some what a challenge when you have 15 Koreans shooting you at the same time but then your just playing hide cloak and seek.

[QUOTE="rmfd341"]If you want a good multiplayer, you should get COD 4. Far Cry 2 also is a great gaming experience, the scenario and the guns are pretty good, the only thing that pisses me off, is the driving, and the guardposts, if you want to go anywhere, you got to be equipped, because you'll have to kill many people if your objective is on the other side of the country. But believe me, it's not a bad game. dannyw7982
How can anyone call constantly and fast respawning guard posts a great gaming experience? Especially when you can't avoid them. It totally kills immersion as does the fact everyone you meet fires on you instantly even if you work for their faction. Ok i know its opinion and you are entitled to yours i just can't understand anyone liking a game that is so repetive and should have been called far drive.

Thanks for you two cents, although I'm looking for answers that are a little more constructive. I assume your answer is COD4 then? Why?

Ive been waiting and waiting for COD4 to come down in price. Obviously it hasn't gone down much in a year. I also Just upgraded my video card and installed the demo again for COD 4. I'm more impressed and temped to buy it. Far Cry 2 is the same price so what should I buy? I like both linear and open world games, what do you guys think?

Try stepping back the clock on your processor. Some games will act a little weird with OCing.

[QUOTE="gamerjerome"][QUOTE="XaosII"]Because it plays the same games as consoles do, and is a valid platform for comparison.XaosII

Only in the past two years. Sadly the PC seems to be getting the ports from consoles. That obviously brings down the PC because the ports are usually bad "cough GTA4"

Which is why this console game from 1998 has only been "in the past two years."

Time challenged much?

Should we also compare Doom on SNES? Yeah the occasional game hit PC from console but it wasn't such a big deal till console hardware caught up with PC's for this generation.

Well all Blizzard games are compatible with Mac, and that's like the epitome of PC gaming right there...HoldThePhone
True. Hopefully Nvidia can stop making faulty GPUs for Mac get something in that can play more than just WOW.
