@readysalted: What games are you looking forward to? Maybe i missed some that i might like? I think the exclusives are going to be less and less frequent going forward. Cross Platform gaming will be a thing eventually, it just makes sense for developers...eventually Sony will follow suit, eventually. I'm not sure how long it will take, but it is a matter of when, not if i think.
I really don't care about exclusives...i just want good games, that play great and look nice...im easy to make happy. Plus, the whole console war stuff is dumb, unless you are under 16 years old lol. Funny thing, when you get older and have money, you buy both, its never one or the other lol
@readysalted: fair enough...but the rest of his comment is correct...i dont see ANY system sellers for Xbox One X as this point...and that sucks, cause i love my xbox. I have the 4k HDR TV, would be nice if Xbox made something to play on it.
PS4 Pro is ok for now, been fun playing BF1 in 4K, huge difference...but i worry about the Scorpio...i just dont see any games that are blowing me away. I will buy State of Decay 2 because i liked the first one, add co-op im all in. Im not big on racing games, so Forza does little for me...and Crackdown will be a buy, but Crackdown 2 wasnt anything special, but was fun with friends.
Those are two games that im luke warm over...Honestly...at this point, the Scorpio is just interesting to me for the graphical upgrade...the games im counting on to make it sing are non-exclusives like Anthem, Shadow of Mordor, etc.
I think at this point, with the lack of exclusives, MSFT is banking on people just upgrading for the graphics as opposed to the exclusives at this point.
@philip_hanan: ummm sony is the company stopping this lol. MSFT has been willing and ready to go for months, same with PC, and now Nintendo...Sony is the lone holdout....they cant seem to help tripping over their own feet these days.
oh great...another far cry...so a re-usable map (like Primal did with Far Cry 3 map), a generic story, crappy map reveal towers, a ridiculous assortment of "make work" pickup items...and terrible dlc.
Sound about right? This game series should have stopped after Far Cry 3...was the only good game in the series...
my god....im not even sure where to start to point out how poorly demonstrative this article is. You realize that the operating system are different right?
You also realize that consoles are made specifically for gaming and performance is based around that? DX12 will be built into the scorpio, and unless i have gone funny in the head over the last few minutes, this should have no problem running 4k/60fps, as it will be optimized around that at an architectural level.
Honestly, for anyone that is really concerned about this and wondering what the real truth is....just go look at Digital Foundry's review of the specs.
I dont think anyone would call into question their ability to review hardware, they are basically the gold standard. They felt that the scorpio would handle 4k with 60fps with power left in the tank yet.
You should really go to places like that for hardware reviews, not a gaming site.
Switch will be fine, we have a strong assortment of games coming lol...Don't they have like 3 announced games for launch?
Call me when Nintendo moves into the year 2016...their graphics are laughable, their system has a battery life of 3 hours (before battery degradation starts in), their still betting on motion gaming (Kinect didn't work, but hey...were Nintendo!).
This company needs to decide what it wants to be...300 dollars for a mobile gaming device? Why not just use my phone...apps are mostly free lol.
This will sell well in Japan like always, make a small dent in North America lie usual...and people will still be left wondering how great a new Zelda or Mario game would look and play on modern technology.
Nintendo should be an industry white paper on how not to run a company. People forget that Nintendo was GAMING in the 80's and pissed away their market share through bad and inept leadership decisions.
As newer consoles are shortening their generations and moving closer to PC aligned hardware increments, Nintendo is going in the exact opposite direction, but still charging a premium cost for less.
let's just hope this is the start of a new game/movie era....Huge hopes for titles like The Last of Us, Drakes Series, Splinter Cell, even Halo had some good shorts...hopefully they are right, so many good titles out there ready for adaption.
Let's be real too...Hollywood has not had an original idea in years (remakes anyone?), so this is an obvious fit for them...built in audience, stories that are already tested and enjoyed...etc...
The story is probably right, i suspect many of the new gaming movie titles will be decent.
