Sorry, but Miyamoto is nothing compared to Kutaragi.

I don't recall Kutaragi being currently in second place as a nominee for Times "Top 100 influential people" :)

Coulnt careless TBH. The fact is Kutaragi is resposiable for the development and the making of the greatest ever console. PS1. Which set the standerds for others to follow?

Man, you're not the only one. I really, really tried hard to like this game, without luck. Bought the old Xbox just to play this game and see what all the hype is about and there wasn't one moment in both games (1 and 2) that made me go wow. Multiplayer was fun but so are most FPS I played. Halo doesn't have any special to deserves all the hype. Nothing. I had more fun playing timesplitters.

I own all three consoles and here's my opinion.  First off I love all of them but the PS3 does have some things that set it apart.

First, the PS3 has free online multiplayer.  I play Resistance and Motorstorm online a lot and so far, no lag.  The multiplayer doesn't use voice chat as much as Live does but this is my only complaint.  Sony should make a cheap headset that comes with every console like microsoft did. Overall though I'm very satisfied with the online multiplayer.  Microsofts is good too and a bit more integrated but its $50 a year (over 5 years thats about $250, how many games could you have bought with that?).  Nintendo's online multiplayer is a joke.

Second, PS3 has built in wireless.  I don't know about you but I hate having cables running through my entire apt.  Wireless rocks.

Third, replacable hard drive.  I can easily just buy a HD at store and swap it out with my old one if the need arises, for a lot cheaper than the 120gb for Xbox 360.

Fourth, the ability to play HD movies.  Yes, I know the "Not everyone has HDTVs" argument but I dont buy my game consoles for everyone else do I?   I spent $1000 on an HDTV about a year before I got my PS3 and god forbid I actually want to buy HD movies to take full advantage of said HDTV.  Call me crazy but yeah, I actually want to use my HDTV to its fullest.

Fifth, and this is a matter of opinion, the sony console exclusives are very good and my favorite of all three consoles.   God of War, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Warhawk, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet and clank, Killzone, Big little planet are all coming within the next year or two.

Sixth, come this fall, Home.  Looks to be a very immersive and fun way to meet other gamers.   Looks like it will be just fun too, cusstomizing your apt and avatar etc.   Looking forward to this.

Seventh, it is far more reliable a piece of hardware when compared to the Xbox 360.  As everyone knows, the 360 is notoriously unreliable with its 3 rings of death.   I got a launch unit back in nov. 2005 and at the beginning of January 2006 it died.   Got one back and its been working good until recently where the dvd drive will just eject the game/dvd without notice.  It's annoying.   Also the fan on that 360 is loud!  My ps3 runs smooth and quiet.  Haven't even had a freeze up issue and I've had it since new years.

Summed up what I wanted to say PERFECTLY

Blu-ray Disc Sales Surpass One Million Mark

Blu-ray Accounts For 70 Percent of High-Definition Movies Sold During First Quarter, According to Home Media Research Sales Figures

HOLLYWOOD--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blu-ray Disc has become the first high definition format to sell more than one million discs, a milestone it has achieved in less than a year. Blu-ray Disc sales also accounted for 70 percent of the high-definition movies sold during the first quarter of 2007, according to sales figures published today by Home Media Research.

Blu-ray's sales lead has increased each month since the first of the year and nearly three out of every four high-definition movies sold in March were on Blu-ray Disc, according to the HMR sales figures.

Industry projections suggest that this steady growth trend will continue based on the fact that seven of the eight major studios are releasing an increasing number of blockbuster movies on Blu-ray Disc, most of which will only be available in high-definition on Blu-ray Disc. In 2006, 18 of the top 20 selling DVD's were released by studios that are publishing their movies on Blu-ray Disc.

Blu-ray Disc titles accounted for eight of the top ten selling high definition titles in the first quarter of this year and since the introduction of both high definition formats, seven of the top ten selling high definition movies are on Blu-ray Disc.

"Sales of Blu-ray Disc titles have taken off since the first of the year," said Andy Parsons, Chairman of the Blu-ray Disc Association's U.S. Promotion Committee and Senior Vice President New Product Development at Pioneer Electronics. "Blu-ray Discs have been outselling HD DVD by more than two to one since the beginning of the year and the gap is steadily widening. It's exactly what we've said all along would happen - the strong support for Blu-ray among movie studio and equipment manufacturers means that consumers have more choices when it comes to players and titles. And they're choosing Blu-ray by an ever-increasing margin."

The sustained sales advantage enjoyed by Blu-ray throughout the first three months of the year will continue as studios maintain an aggressive release schedule to bring the biggest Hollywood movies to high definition. In the coming months, Blu-ray Disc studios will be releasing blockbuster titles such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Night at the Museum, Cars and Dreamgirls (for a complete release schedule, see attached chart).
