@Megavideogamer: Thanks. I got into the bad habbit of selling my consoles before moving on. A move which i regret as there are many titles I would have liked to have gone back to. :(

@Solaryellow: I think you miss understood my point. It is easier to shell out when you consider that $500 today is significantly lower chunk of your income than the $200 was back in the 90s. What I meant is that that was the equivalent of paying that $619 - 900 ( updated figures) for an Xbox or PS4 in 2013. I didnt mean that it would cost you that much to buy a mega drive today.
Few households would have had multiple consoles, phones, computers, discmen / walkemen etc. I think its fair to say that gaming is significantly cheaper today than its ever been. Shelling out $60 for a game back in the 90s was like spending $110 today.

“They aren't a $50.00 Blu-Ray player where the consumer is happy if he/she gets a year use out of it”
I actually couldn’t disagree with this more.
Over the last twenty years in Video gaming its never been cheaper to be a gamer. Games have always been around the £45-50 (or $60 in the US) mark for a new title, and when the Sega Megadrive was realeased in 1990 it was a whopping $200. That’s over $742 at todays value. When you compare that with the launch price of the PS4 and XBone $400 & $499 respectively it really puts the cost of gaming today into perspective. Especially when you consider that a Sega Genesis game costing $60 in 1990 is worth $110 at todays value.
Additionally more gamers than ever own more than one home console PLIS hand-helds, tablets and smart phones.
Sorry just realised I used the wrong figures for the cost of the actual console! it was £200 in the UK and apx $200 in the US (we got screwed over!) £200 at todays value is between £400-£580 which in dollars equates to $619 - $900 today depending on whether you take the value of commodities into account.

@jcrame10: Yeah the overpowering weapons are a bit too disruptive at times, but I find that it adds tension and adrenaline to an already frantic racer ^_^
@GameboyTroy: Thanks! yeah this thread has been a lot more active than i expected. I'm trying to find the time to read and reply to all the comments ^_^
From your stacks I've played New Super Mario Bros which i enjoyed but never finished (I still have the game so will have to get back on that at some point) Mario Kart (must buy as usual) and Twilight Princess which if I'm honest I didn't really dig. I think it was the motion controls which were throwing me off the game. Will need to get a copy on the gamecube and give it another shot.
I didn’t get to play the remake of 007 Golden Eye is it worth picking up or is not worth it??
@Collie_Lover: Thanks ! =)
I love what they have done recently with Captain Toad. Hopefully we will see them make more use of their impressive character roster. New games like Luigi's Mansion or Captain Toad with their other characters would be great. I would love to see a Bowser game!
Interesting to read the review and some of the comments. Particularly under the - where the reviewer states underwhelming character models. The character models seem to reflect their real life counter parts to a higher degree of accuracy than FIFA. (At least in the demo and the video above)
This year I think im going for FIFA for the first time since 2004. Every year I play both demo's extensively before making a decision, a decision which the last 3 seasons has been to not bother with either as they failed to excite me. However, this year's FIFA (for me at least) has a superior physics system with players feeling like they have some weight behind them, something which i feel is lacking in PES in this year, and the rumble feedback on crunching tackles in FIFA is nice. Additionally they have added the training mini-games which PES dropped dropped a number of years ago much to my dismay.
Will keep playing both demos a little longer, but for the first time in over a decade I may be switching sides.
