This game is not one of 2024's best fantasy games. Blatant lie. Disregard for the truth.

@just1mohr: Leave it to Nintendo to disappoint. They really need to stop acting like games are for children and stop worrying about hitting the lowest possible price points. I'm certain no one would mind a $50-$100 upcharge for an OLED screen. And we don't want to have to wait 1-2 years for that.

Wow man the state of games journalism just deteriorates further and further at an alarming rate. Yet another Switch 2 speculation articles about how much it could sell? With no factual basis. I have a prediction it will sell more than 1 console and less than 400 billion. Somewhere in that range. I estimate it will sell 66.6 million consoles within the first 666 days.

Gamespot, here's some more content for your writers - the Switch 2 will actually have 8k resolution. Bloodborne 2 will be a launch exclusive, Cyberpunk 2079 is coming day 2. There is a Mario multiverse MMO coming out, and it has VR capabilities.

@HAWK9600: Ah that makes sense. I hear what you're saying, and despite my very positive thoughts on the game, I recognize it's not for everyone. I will say this - about halfway (8-10 hours) through the game they introduce something that should've been open since the beginning, that makes the combat way more fun and strategic. At any rate, if you decide to give it a second chance, I hope you love it!

@HAWK9600: Did you beat the game? It does ramp up the difficulty eventually and can be quite challenging. This is coming from a pre patch Erdtree veteran that beat ER and Erdtree in less than 90 hours with a brand new character, sword and shield, and no funky meta builds. Just stubbornness.

Ah you mean the kinds of games that companies made when their sole purpose wasn't just hoping to print tons of money?

That's one of the biggest issues with the games industry and why job losses are so common in that space.

First off, every game cannot and should not attempt to appeal to everyone.

Secondly, understanding that games are made by companies and companies need to make money to survive - the pursuit of a gold mine cannot be your primary focus.

Lastly, games are putting their money in the wrong places. Kunitsu Gami is one of my top games of 2024, and it's beautiful and stunning, but its graphics are humble. On the flip side - look at Concord. No one needed or wanted hyper realistic character models in a multiplayer first person shooter. Those are the kinds of foolish decisions that are making the games industry seem like it's in a bigger crisis than it actually is.

I salute Capcom for Kunitsu Gami. They nailed it. Beautiful game, fantastic art, great gameplay. I spent 48 hours with the game and loved every moment of it.
