Half? I'd love to see a comparable PC build for half. A fair bit more? Sure, at that level. Cut back to something closer to the base model however, and you've got a decently priced machine.

now i know most of you will yell BUILD! but that is impractcal for me to do so please dont try to convince me about it or flame me for it im definatly buying a prebuilt dell. i just wanted to know which computer of the 2 is the better deal..ill be playing games at 1680x1050.. i also wanted to know which processor youd recommend if im not able to overclock. the Q6600 Quad at 2.4ghz or the Core 2 E8400 at 3.0 ghz.. You have no idea how much your help is appreciated.

You should be able to play most games at max resolution except Crysis, where you'll probably have to play at 1280X1024 or even 1024X768 if you want really good framerates. The 8800GT is a great card and the Q6600 shouldn't be bottlenecking your system even at stock speeds unless you try playing CPU-intensive games like FSX or Supreme Commander.BlueBirdTS
