True, it's possible that a multi-millionaire PS3 or Xbox 360 fanboy could go and buy up a few million consoles to boost sales, but this is highly unlikely. After all, a multi-millionaire would have a top-of-the-line gaming PC, so they wouldn't need any consoles.[QUOTE="CentricStorm"][QUOTE="ZIMdoom"]
DO I really need to explain that shipped == sold. Shipped MEANS that retails have purchased 360s or PS3s and they have been shipped to be sold at retail outlets.
Once they get on market there is no real way to tell if it lands in the hands of a person or somewhere else.

nahhh, theyre too busy socializing and flirting with women to obssess about the newest graphcis card
Everyone knows rich people only play with the cool kids(consoles)instead of the computer nerds(computer)[QUOTE="lundy86_4"][QUOTE="johnlennon28"] the sad part is some people are ok with it, like sriously, how can someone stand a console or any product that you know have a big tendency to break any minute..Armagadem
When the company in question extends the warranty for 3 years for no fee :P
Wouldn't it just be easier just to get something that doesn't break. It's like toilet paper do you want to keep running out and getting it for free for a limited time. Or get a good brand that lasts a long time and doesn't run out (i.e. break) Well you tell me when they make unlimited toilet paper because my ps3 is starting to give me problems, nothing major though, but when I play my 360 I know something will happen but instead of worrying I send it in.[QUOTE="lazerface216"][QUOTE="Nonstop-Madness"]Well it is true that 360 users rebuy their consoles. I have plenty of friends with 360's and they do stuff like buy a 360 S just because its an upgrade or buy a 360 just to mod it. Just that's not really a reasonable excuse. A more reasonable excuse would be that the 360 got a year head start which effects hardware sales/ game sales/ developer relationships etc. Nonstop-Madness
yeah, that's definitely not a reasonable excuse. you act like plenty of ps3 users didn't upgrade when the ps3 slim was released. the year head start excuse is not holding up anymore either, it's over half way through 2010 and the ps3 is still behind by 5-6 million units sold.
there was no reason to upgrade to a PS3 Slim. The PS3 was already reliable, quite, had wi-fi, upgradable HDD, and some had BC. The 360 S is quieter, cooler, more reliable, wi-fi, larger HDD, kinect ready etc. A year head start is a reasonable excuse simply because if the 360 and PS3 came out the same time, the PS3 would be ahead. I not saying its just because of the year head start but it does play a part. No the head start is getting old now.The wii was the last console to come out and look how far ahead it is.The ps3 was in the boondocks so its getting there.heres what the sw folks tend to forget about the 360, it's everywhere. i can't think of popular media that does not show it in the background.
i have seen 360s in the simpsons, family guy, south park, mad tv, movies, you name it.
start watching the backgrounds of sit coms, television commercials, dramas, and almost anything else media related.
the ps3 has turned into a persona non grata as far as popular entertainment goes.
