Well, it is working better now. I may have had too high of expectations for it, but it is considerably better than the old one. What sort of performance should I expect from this? I don't have anything to compare it to. Examples are welcome.

[QUOTE="getchasome"]alright, to get this thread back on track, It's an 8600 GT not GS and is 512mb. Why are games slow on it? I have a desktop, not a laptop, and laptop cards are none of my concern. Sorry if I sound a bit irate, but this thread was derailed a long while ago.subrosian

OK Now what People who are knowledgeable about PC's should be Asking is What is youre CPU? how mutch ram do you have? and last but not least What is the wattage of youre PSU (power supply unit)

Answer thos 3 then ill get back to you.

Far more important "what is your OS" and "what driver version are you using?" Battlefield 2142 has issues under Vista with older nVidia drivers, and even under XP with some of the beta drivers.

Gah how could i forget about the OS! although he did say he downloaded the latest drivers for his card

Yeah but that doesn't mean he actually did :-P

I'll just quote this one cause it has all the questions in it. 1 gig ram (need more, I know) AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ Running XP, updated to the latest Nvidia drivers. 500Watt PSU (300watt increase from my old one)

It didn't say anything about a laptop card. Its in my desktop PC. I'm not a laptop fan. So it's a laptop card then?

I just got an Nvidia 8600GS 512mb card, and so far, I've had nothing but problems. Lots of errors, crashes to desktops, and when it does run games, it dosen't run high graphics very well (i.e. I cant run NWN2 on full settings without the FPS dropping way down) Any ways I can fix this, or is this card just a piece of S**t? I'm starting to feel like it may be.
