health pack's were awesome dude, because u couldnt just hide in a corner the whole time and have full health. if u got low on health sitting in that corner after someone shot u got u low on health with healthpacks then that person is gonna move from corner and seek out a health pack to get full health again.

health packs helped prevent people from hiding in a corner with recharging health the whole time.

GS rules dictate that I have to respond with something more than just WTF? So here goes:

1. Early games contained platforming, therefore any genre that contains platforming is clearly superior in quality than those that don't. This what your saying and it makes absolutely no sense. Early games also had blocky pixels and lacked polygons. How come awesome games don't have these things?

2. People that play RPGs and RTS are dorks. This statement is ridiculous. It's just as easy to say that people who play FPS games are mindless idiots that only enjoy killing things.

Of course, I'm under the assumption that you are actually trying to formulate an argument, instead of just being an obnoxious troll.

original need for speed=dodging cars=platforming in a sense.

Whoopy dooo, thats fine, there's room for different styles of FPS. You just described Halo too BTW.

halo's jumps are easier and they are rarely placed at area's that require you to platform compared to quake. in call of duty u just spawn with any weapon u want run around and shooting each other or hide in a corner and shoot someone when they walk past MINDLESS KILLING lol.

all u do in fps now is shooting, u dont even really need to use jump to move around the levels like quake or unreal.

duke nukem forever is gonna help save the fps genre, because it will have more to it than just ducking behind cover popping out and shooting. it will be more than just mindless killing like call of duty.
