Gears 2 is an improvement in every way yet it still got a 9.0. Did you read the review?
gears didnt do enough. only diff is the horde mode and 2 extra slot in multiplayer
ignorance at its finest. didnt you see the review? since its a sequel, of course it going to get improve, but no enough to get a higher score than the original. its been 2 years and all they came up with was a slight bump on graphics, tweak cover system, added horde mode, and 2 slots in the MP section. Thats not enough for a much anticipated game, but as a developer why mess with success right? R2 on the other hand improved so much. Its a totally different game. game is much bigger in scale with 30 foot bossess and landscape that you could see for miles. 8 coop, not 4, but 8 coop, 60 MP with no evidence of slowdown or lag. Its amazing what insomiac did on this game.
Bottom line. R2 did more on their sequel than gears 2 and r2 deserve a 9.0 or higher
It doesnt matter Gears 2 is a better game so it gets a higher score resistance 2 kept the exact same mediocre generic gameplay as the first did they can add 100 players for all i care its still has the same mediocre gameplay and its multiplayer is still nothing but a mindless frag fest resistance 2 will get an 8.0 an 8.5 if its lucky
