[QUOTE="seannn199"]lol about the contradiction issues

http://www.contenderministries.org/islam/contradictions.php

it list quite abit there
RazMaTaz-1

ugh, Reported! How a appreciation thread has gone to this is beyond me.

What the hell? did you bother to read any of the other post in this thread? Were maybe everyone else was making fun of each other (muslims?) . I simply posted a link because someone else couldnt copy and paste. Just prooving a point. not to mention I told people what was in the link. if you didint want to know the "contradicitons" then dont click the link. there was nothnig offensive in my post

Proving a point for what? that Islam is supposidly full of contradictions? Let me tell you something, stop gathering info from sites no one has even heard of and making it sound like they are true, because you got no hard evidence to back it up. I could simply find a link how Atheists are a bunch of idiots and how their minds think, doesnt mean its true does it? NO. I have read this thread, and its beyond pathetic. It started of with people being happy that people appreciate the letter and there aint no problems with the two sides, then someone starts talking about religion, then it leads to this. Whats worse, over a bloody video game. Seriously, OVER A FREAKING GAME?

can you see the contradiction of what you're saying?? you say we're getting worked up over a 'freaking game', but on the other hand why should any game company remove something from a 'freaking game' just because some people don't like.

the problem is that we keep giving in to these 'i'm offended' claims over and over and over and freaking over again till the point everyone's tired of it.

and it seems the offended are always the same bunch of people.

i don't care about any religion... they should be private... the way anyone wants to worship whatever they want it's their business... i hate it that we constantly need to change our ways to give previleges to these religions. in this and so many other cases islam.

just thought i'd rant a bit on how sick i am of religions interfeering on my life and now in my gaming also...

everyone... just keep your imaginary friends out of real life, WE DON'T CARE FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE!!!

(signed: bunch of rational people)

[QUOTE="RazMaTaz-1"]I swear, what on earth is wrong with you people? How did a Muslim appreciation Letter to Sony come to a religious debate about Islam? Seriously, atheists can bich all you want, but the fact is religion is gonna stay. Also, Its just a bloody game, so get a life.--odai--

Agreed. Religion is going to stay no matter what. We have to free the world from the WEST(mainly the USA) control and share our cultures and education to the world without being controlled by their system. Then we shall call it FREEDOM. Until then, it's called control of information and do whatever they can to make things FIT with their interests. "They" must be terminated.

oh and if you wanna free yourself from the west try starting by not coming to the west or using western technology...

who kissed the western @ss s and came to ur technology and if we are useing it we pay for it ... if don't want us too don't sell ur stuff .. if it's urs

i didn't understand what you're saying... on the first part of your post you seem to agree with me, on the 2nd part you seem to disagree... i'm confused

i think i disagree

oh... ok

i disagree with your disagreement then

Here's my problem - It's fine to respect religion but when respect isn't equal it's unfair.

I honestly believe everyone should be able to believe in what they want to - That's fine, but once you start shoving it in the face of others it becomes a problem. Why couldn't sony just say they're going to release a patch which allows you to disable that song? So people with a certain religion have the option to not listen to it.

Wouldn't that be fulfilling the same thing but allowing others to enjoy the game and all of it's content? We don't have the same beliefs, the same respect for that text as you do - so why should we have our games censored?

The thing is alot of us feel screwed over because of it - I don't exactly care if it's offensive to a group myself, I mean we could ban virtually everything if we thought like that. I'm all for sony making it so people have the option to turn it off, or heck you don't even have to buy it in the first place but I just feel as if they're letting religious extremists win as we know the type of reaction which stuff which offends muslims can cause.

I.e Danish comic strips.

samourai_v87

Or better yet.. those people in that particular religion just wake up and realize that in no way does it do anybody any harm to hear words.. because A. they aren't holy words from a holy book.. and B. they are only words from just another book...

" they're letting religious extremists win as we know the type of reaction which stuff which offends muslims can cause."

couldn't agree more... if Muslims won't even recognize Israel as a nation or people why should the rest of the world have to put up with this nonsense?

exactly... words are just words... people who get offended by them are just morons...

Nice contradiction there buddy. :)

i fail to see the contradiction... buddy :)

i stand by what i said

and when i call someone a moron i don't mean to offend them... i'm just stating a fact

so if we follow your logic, if we disagree with your opinion we're morons otherwise we're not?My friend you fail.

1st of all i'm not your friend

2nd you seem to not understand my logic or try to misinterpret it on purpose. I said that you can have your own ideas and ideas are debatable. saying this i don't give you the right to feel offended at anything i say because i can say whatever i want. same goes the other way around... you can tell me anything you want and i have no right to feel offended. i may chose to ignore you if i think you're wasting my time.

understand now?

maybe try and quote all of what i said first... including Voltaire's statement.

have a good day with your imaginary friends (yes i'm insulting your religion but not you by saying your god or whatever doesn't exist... see what i did here?) :) and the best of all... you have no right to feel offended by it. that's how freedom works

exactly... words are just words... people who get offended by them are just morons... and to the guy who was saying it shouldn't be allowed to tell women they look sexy or use the 'n' word (what n word?? i'm sorry i'm not american and here in europe we don't ban words because people don't feel offended by them)

do you mean negro? why do you need to 'hide' this word? is it offensive? why? are you implying there's something wrong with having a different color? should we start banning also the 'w' word (w as in white)??

please... words are words... those who don't learn from history tend to make the same mistakes over and over again.

and telling a girl she looks good is a bad thing only if you're persistently harassing someone and that person is clearly not wanting to hear it from you... but that's just when you need to know when to stop.

so like i said, freedom is a previlege... don't act as if you have special permission to let it get screwed over... and if you don't like something you hear just deal with it.

like Voltaire said 'I may not agree with what you're saying but I will fight to my death for your right to say it'... try to understand the meaning of these 'holy words'

[QUOTE="ginraisama"]

people who get offended by this are just stupid... i'm an atheist and by that way of thinking every game that had any reference to any for of divine being should be offensive to me...

i wonder why it's not...

oh i know now... because it's just a game

hhttppp

Thats fine as its your opinion and there is no right answer to all this. His views differ from yours and thats just how it is.

I have spent a lot of time around Muslims and I can easily say they take their religion more seriously most, so this doesnt surprise me at all. Muslims live there religion in every aspect of there lives and have an amazing amount respect for Islam. They wont touch the Quran without washing their hands and they wont place other objects on top of it. If there is a movie made about islam, they wont have actors to depict the prophets, but instead act as if the prophet is off screen because they find it disrespectful to have any man imitate a prophet of god even if it is for entertainment.

So of course having verses from the Quran put over instrumentals in a video game is offensive to them. You dont have to agree with his views, but you should at least respect them.

don't confuse respect for submission... since when are the islamic values our values?

if they don't like it, don't buy the game... but i'm offended by them telling us how to live our lives or how to make our games... freedom is not a right, it's a previlege that our ancestors fought and died so we could enjoy it. how dare anyone tell us what we can or can not talk about?

the ammount of respect they give their religion doesn't imply i or anyone else should respect it. i respect people, ideas are always... ALWAYS... debatable

i agree... this is taking a piss on free speach

since when did 1 religion get so much previlege that it's even taboo to mention it or call it as it is?

this b$ needs to stop... how much longer must we tolerate to be censored in the west to even mention or play with this particular religion while we can say whatever we want about all others? isn't this supposed to be the free world?

people confuse respect for other people with submission and sony just lost some of mine with this move
