@godlygamer:
So true, doesn't it feel sometimes like Nintendo hates their customer with a passion and just wants to use them to make money? All of their systems come out with low end specs and over priced, they charge to hell and back on their first party games + accessories, and they lack BC (which Sony refuses to make their product BC as well).
I agree with what you said backwards compatibility is a must have.
The Switch is the only non-BC console from Nintendo in recent years, and that is because it switched media from discs to cartridges. BC is physically impossible this time around.
Wii U played Wii games, the Wii played GameCube games, The 3DS played DS games, the DS played Gameboy Advance games, and the Gameboy Advance played Gameboy games. You could use Wii accessories on the Wii U and GameCube accessories on the Wii.
Nintendo charges the same amount for their first party games upon release as other publishers, and were $10 cheaper in the Wii/360/PS3 era because they hadn't upgraded to HD.
There is a tremendous amount of technology in the Switch and it is reportedly only being sold at a narrow profit. The Wii U and the 3DS were sold at a loss. So your overpriced argument doesn't make sense.
You don't have to like Nintendo. Everyone has a right to their own opinions. But not to their own facts.
I do share your frustration with them just wanting to make money. Where can I sign up for free consoles and games from the other companies who don't share Nintendo's dastardly business goal of making money?
Where are Nintendo's mature rated games. Basically Nintendo kids their fans to the curb when they grow up.
Nintendo accessories are wildly expensive and so they were right about BC in the past... Now they are not.
