@Ripper_TV: See, you're relying solely upon stereotypes, rather than the merits of Virtuous' own body of work. This particular studio has done some good porting work of late, though. It's not like Fable Remaster, Final Fantasy X/X-2 or the Heavy Rain remaster were poorly done (say what you will about the originals). It may have been cheaper for WB, but they're also an experienced studio in this field.

@RaveNRolla: When did you play? I believe most of these have been patched, so I think it depends on when you picked the game up. But it's also possible that you simply never met the conditions to trigger any bugs. That happened to me with FO4 and Oblivion. I also only encountered only one of the hundreds of documented bugs for Skyrim (the one for the thieves guild where you collected some guy's journals - they never left my inventory). So it happens. But I do think it's worth noting that Evil Within used id Tech 5, whereas the Bethesda developed RPGs used Gamebryo. id Tech 5 games are typically pretty solid.

@Atzenkiller: I think you're confusing Bethesda the publisher with Bethesda the developer. Arkane made the first game, not Bethesda's namesake dev studio of Fallout and Elder Scrolls fame. Bethesda was just the publisher, and they've published other polished releases that weren't developed by their namesake studio. Look no further than the new Doom developed by id, and the Wolfenstein titles from Machine Games. However, another one of the games they recently published, The Evil Within, was pretty buggy iirc. My point being that it depends more upon the development studio than the publisher. The folks at Arkane that made Dishonored had also worked on games like BioShock 1, Deus Ex 1, and Half-Life 2. The quality of the game isn't that surprising imo.

@Semi-Automatic: Have you seen Yves Guillemot? I wouldn't consider him "fat".

@HippyTrippy: Doom's more social, bunny hopping cousin. I miss Quake.

@xbox360kb: It wasn't a review ban. A ban would mean they had copies prior to launch and were embargoed from publication. That's not what happened here. They simply didn't receive copies in time.

@yogibbear: What? I don't know too many people that had 2 64bit quad-core processors in their PCs in 2004. You're being a little hyperbolic, to say the least. A 2010-11 PC? Sure. But 2004? Get real. The AMD FX-55 was one of the best performers of 2004, and the PS4's CPU has it beat. And where could you buy GDDR5 RAM in 2004? Did you have a time machine back then?

@Spartan_418: WB isn't as generous. Just look at their DLC practices. Deep Silver is downright charitable towards their fans in comparison.

@xenomorphalien: I don't know that it will come now. WB would rather that you buy the remaster, so they wouldn't green light the BC licensing.
