FFVI & VII, in my opinion, were the best FF games. The series as a whole i wouldn't consider the best. I think Wild Arms and Valkyrie Profile were both games that were better than a lot of the FF series.
I suppose they could try and build on a TWEWY series, that game's got high ratings, its rather popular. Maybe that could be the replacement for FF? I think if SE get a game selling in equal or higher numbers to FF they may take Final Fantasy off the market to make way for the new comer. It would be a sad day, but i think the series is coming to the end of its lifespan now and they need to focus on some new games.
now that i think about it, it's about time SE put a stop to the FF games. They had a good run, 13 games and plenty of spin-offs. Maybe it's time SE went in a different direction?
If/When they do decide to call it a day i hope the last FF they make is a remake of VII, go out with a bang.
exactly what i thought Drawesome. His whole whiney attitude was like nails on a chalk board, and who ever did the english voice acting for him sounded awful. I just watch it in japanese now.
By the way what the hell was in that box that he was crying over in the midgar ruins? i never really understood that bit :S was it materia or something else?
A great film, loved seeing the old favourites in action again. And it is over the top, i was watching one of the extra features with the creators and the creation process and they said they intended it to be OTT. They said something along the lines of "we didn't want to make a movie that was realistic, we wanted to make one that was fun to watch" and as far as im concerned they succeeded. I didn't like Kadaj in it though, i found him very irritating.
IMO square-enix will probably lose a lot of cash and go downhill, seeing as it's their trademark game i think it will disappoint too many fans to recover and create something better.
