Basically the genre is in a rut. World of Warcraft is it at it's worst ever, and is still better than the competition.

If your looking for an online RPG mix, just go with Guild Wars 2 or ESO. Neither have good raiding end games ... but they are damn well more interesting games than FF14 ... just final fantasy fanboyism at its finest ... the game has some of the most archiac gameplay in the genre... its questing/fates(dynamic events) are incredibly limited, what makes it worse is they failed to improve on ANY of these systems in their first expansion ... and the game is limited by supporting the PS3 ... which is a joke in itself. You have floating islands, and you still cant jump off the edge... or dismount - minor things ... but they stack up.

Bare in mind, people like @goodkingmog probably just grind in the game and watch cutscenes .. 2 months "playing every day" ... it does not take that long. and most of it is tedious "walk here, go back there" ... honestly you will grow sick of it fast. At least games like GW2 have a good engine, with good character mobility and more believable quests. FF sticks to cutscenes... outside of that... its very outdated. But then expect someone who says "Star Citizen FPS Module is delay" indefinitely to spout nonsense... and then vouch for things like this.

Those saying "WoW is now like a mobile game business module" just because its garisons have wait times on them ... and the such ... FF14 is full of "click this, wait a few hours then try again" ... and grindy mini games .... and well, just grind... FF is pure grind... its one of the most RNG MMOs on the market in 2015 now (AAA ones anyway) .... there is very little content that actually pushes any sort of skill ... 1 8 man dungeon every 6months (terrible) and the occasional singular boss (primal extremes) that server very little purpose outside of grinding for RNG items ... and as I said, the RNG is worse than most games).

All those shiny graphics, and they can't even creativly design dungeons and boss rooms that are not just circles or squares .... its like FF13/FF10 you walk down a singular corridor, that doesn't even try to hide the fact that its a corridor .... no suprises .... then "oh look, its a lsightly more open circle room, ITS BOSS TIME" ..... all those graphics, no creativity.

someone is salty

i cant say enough about FF14.... the original game was fantastic, and heavensward is just as good. hundreds and hundreds of hours of enjoyment. it literally took me over 2 months of playing almost every day just to get through the story for the POST release content in 2.0. starting from level 1 there is a crazy amount of content and story at this point.

A+ IN GENERAL is a waste... but is basically required by every IT company out there. the knowledge is so basic that anyone even remotely considering IT should probably already know most of it.

I just don't get it. Some of you guys flame @goodkingmog but you are allowed to spout nonsense about how much this game is a godsend? A person can have a different opinion. If you want to see the game succeed and he wants to see it fail....why is he the bad guy? You are just as bad to blindly follow a game that sells ships For anywhere from 2-40x the price of a normal game. YES, you can call it a pledge all you want but we all know you are buying a ship. Sorry but the game isn't even close to done and you are buying items in it.

Best of luck on your game but do yourself a favor and keep the hate off. Some people are going to dislike what you like.

dont speak logic... people on gamespot dont understand opinions. if you like something, you are automatically the good guy and if you dont like something, you are automatically the bad guy.

I agree that attacking individuals has no place here. However, to the content of the original post there's a big difference between thinking that a game will fail and -wanting- a game to fail. I have yet to hear anyone give a compelling reason for why anyone should -want- a game to fail beyond personal biases such as vitriol towards the developer, the game type, or the community that enjoys the game. While I can certainly understand the perspective that it’s unlikely this game will succeed with its massive budget and increase in scale, that’s totally different from wishing the game to fail for the schadenfreude derived glee of others being wrong about the game.

If you’re interested in fostering a reasonable discussion, try coming out of the gate with less incendiary comments.

its a forum, i can talk about whatever i please as long as im not flaming another user. if i want a game to fail, i dont have to justify it to you or anyone else. there just so happens to be MANY reasons why i would like star citizen to fail... but that wasnt the topic of the thread, so why would i talk about it? the topic of the thread was.... promised feature.... now indefinitely delayed.... MEANWHILE they offer a new 400 dollar ship.

i really dont care if you dont agree with me. that is your prerogative. we dont all have to have the same opinion. the issue is, some people dont know how to separate opinion from their emotions. im sorry that you dont agree with me, but my opinion is my opinion. get over it. its only incendiary if you are an asshole and take comments about videogames personally. if that is a case, my overwhelming suggestion is.... get a life.

Maybe I don't understand the concept of Star Citizen but why would I play a progression-based game where players can just buy everything? How would this be different than if Sony started selling giant tanks in Planetside 2 that dominated infantry, and could only be unlocked with $30 or 300 hours of playtime? And at least PS2 is free :P

the concept of star citizen is to promise the moon and stars, get peoples money years in advance, and then gradually cancel or indefinitely delay promised features after they can do nothing about it.

welcome to what is considered by gamers to be a shining example of game development in 2015.

back in the day, you didnt give anyone money until you had the game in your hand, and it was 100% finished.... there were no patches or bullshit after release development... and developers were GRATEFUL for your money. now they make you feel like an asshole if you dont give them money years before the game even comes out, and gamers jump all over your nuts if you speak out about it.

lol oh god.... i cant wait for more aticles to come out like this to prove that SC was basically just a giant pipe dream.

im prepared to read all of you guys saying how this is such a good thing and how SC is the best thing ever created

sounds like you have something personal against this game. what are you basing your doubts on? because it's not ready yet? LOL.

because here's the thing; Chris Roberts has ALREADY DELIVERED amazing space games in the past many times, so that kind of proves he (out of pretty much anyone else) has the skills to make something amazing like this happen.

will this game be the best space game ever made? hard to say at this point. will it fail miserably? hell no. Chris Roberts is now more experienced than ever before, so it can't fail completely.

EDIT: oh nevermind... i read his posts a bit further, and he's just some troll.

you seem pretty confused as to what an opinion is. i suggest starting with a google search for the definition.
