geralt's beard WILL NO LONGER GROW if you install the beard and hair DLC.... that was specifically stated by the devs because they didnt think people would want the style to change if they manually picked a look.
so yeah, if you installed the DLC, you no longer get a growing beard.
"If having a foot-long soup-catcher dangling from Geralt’s chin isn’t your style, you can download a free Beard and Hairstyle DLC pack, which will freeze any style in place. “When you download the free Beard and Hairstyle DLC the growth of the beard will stop because we decided that when players want a predefined look, it would be weird to require from them to reapply it time after time,” explained Platkow-Gilewski."
MS is really making big moves with windows 10 and all the changes. i really think everything they are bringing will overhaul how people see their software.
The mouse and keyboard controls are horrific.
The controller isn't better.
yes it is.... it is significantly better for this game....
Well my boss is gonna buy me a mac for IOS development so I will see what is all the fuss about.
Is it a desktop? I don't see the appeal of those unless you need OSX professionally. I don't find the operating system to be easier in any way, except maybe not needing a separate "uninstall" panel (you just delete apps like on a phone) and otherwise in some ways Windows is simpler.
the statement that mactards use that "OSX is easier" is horse shit. OSX is no easier to use or understand than windows.
The controls border on unplayable, graphics wont fix that.
Use a joystick, the game was made for it.
I think you mean a joypad? No. I bought it for the pc, it was a pc franchise, it was advertized as having mouse and keyboard controls.
No "well just", no.
the game plays better with a controller... just like witcher 2 did. i promise.
The Witcher 2 worked better with a mouse and keyboard, espcailly with menus. Even the basic act of "turning" is botched in the Witcher 3.
It's frankly, a travesty of the pc, graphics is the least of it's problems.
what? the witcher 3 is one of the best games to come out in years..... and is probably the single best open world game ever created.
have been playing for a dozen hours with a controller and have had zero problems.... i cant imagine playing the game with mouse and keyboard considering there is no precision needed and moving the mouse constantly to pan the camera or whatever would just blow.

so much troll... lol
Ignorance is bliss I guess. When people are saying Witcher 2 looks better in many aspects, well...that's just kinda lame. I'm not going to harp on it though.
Oh please, those people have a bad case of nostalgia googles. Witcher 2 looks nice overall because it had good aesthetics and some nice stuff, but even when it released it had many dated graphical features. Witcher 2 has some of the worst shadow dithering issues in a game, an abysmal SSAO implementation, slathered on way too much low quality post processing, terrible quality bloom where if you angled the camera just right Geralts face would just turn into a blob of light.
People who think Witcher 2 looks better or comparable to Witcher 3 are probably the same people who still think vanilla Crysis is graphically impressive in 2015. They need to try playing those games again to remember what they actually look like.
how dare you speak out against the mighty king of bullshit KHAndAnime! he is ALWAYS right... a man of his stature couldnt possibly be wrong in any debate that doesnt involve facts or common sense... ever!

oh gosh... a link to a steam thread.... because we all know steam community posts arent just a bunch of PC elitist bitches stroking each others epeens.... *rolls eyes*
in no way, shape, or form, does the witcher 3 look WORSE than the witcher 2. it is just not true.
Meh. The Witcher games have always been pretty ugly - this one is no exception. I can only imagine the barrage of crap recycled animations we're about to endure
lol KH.... always good for a troll.
And unfortunately I'm right again. The game releases and many people are really disappointed that the graphics didn't live up to their expectations. Happened with Witcher 2 too. The pre-release screenshots were not very impressive and yet they were downgraded from those, even. I mean, we can pretend the game looks great...but c'mon. It really doesn't.
No you're wrong again:
No, people are dissapointed that CDProjekt showed one graphics build, but released the game with another
What difference does it make? None - it's the same difference: people are disappointed with Witcher 3's graphics. People thought they were going to look better than what they were delivered. You're referring to older screenshots that used a better graphics build. The most recent screenshots released reflected the current state of the game's graphics.
- Witcher 2 looked better with each footage and even better with the final game
If you think so. The trailers and pre-release screenshots looked great but when the game released, many people (including myself) were laughing at the animations and NPC detail quality. Very poor.
- You need glasses
If my vision was blurrier, wouldn't that mean lower-detail objects would appear equivalent to higher detailed objects? Maybe I'm not the one who need glasses. If your vision is blurry and there's no low-detail elements that pop out to you, that's fine. The low-quality elements of this game's GFX stick out to me like a sore thumb - and have long before launch.
I'm not sure how I can objectively wrong about something that's subjective. I just think the animations look blatantly clunky and many elements of the graphics look dated. If you disagree, that's fine. I'm sure the game's fine, but if the game wasn't ugly or disappointing - nobody would really be pointing out downgrades from the earlier builds in the first place. There are parts of the game that look great, but as a whole, visually, it's a little weak for a 2015 title. Often good graphics are enough alone to convince me to pick up titles. Especially considering I'd like to "benchmark" the beauty of my new monitor - but Witcher 3 never really convinced me.
Don't want to slight the game though...sure it's great. Just not my taste.
