@TheLeftHandDoom How do you find it to be mindless and pseudo-intellectual? The author offers his thoughts and evaluation of the situation in the game and is open to counter-points offered from the community. If all you do is name call and belittle without offering any evidence or logical debate, how is that intellectual?

Fantastic read. I appreciate authors and people who instead of getting offended take the time to really evaluate and appreciate content for what it has to offer and in return offer their own thoughts and discussion points. If more people would respond to issues with well thought out logic and points of debate we could all advance society as a whole much faster. This was a refreshing contrast to the name calling and belittling we see all to much of today.

@julzeverne I think you missed the point of the article completely. The author praises the game creators for evoking thought provoking story and concepts and urges discussion and debate about its meaning. Name calling like you are doing doesn't help and is in fact very un-evolved. The way we evolve as a society is to use debate, discussion, and re-evaluation of our thoughts to move forward. If you want to advance society, I urge you to lay down logical arguments with supporting facts.

I think the distinction between a traditional MMO where you have to actively build a party of players and a game like this where you are automatically grouped apart from a queue system is HUGE. Rift has elements of this, when two players are fighting the same elite monster it will automatically throw them together in to a group to promote cooperation. This is a blast and radically changes the feel of the game to make you feel part of a larger universe. Other games that force you through menus to group up instantly break the continuity of the world and cause people to often forgo aiding their fellow player. That more than anything has me pumped about Destiny. We need more games that establish random grouping for common causes.

The Zelda idea of using the controller screen to look into the other dimension in real time is particularly cool. For me though, I'm very excited about the possibility of strategy games finally coming in playable form to a console. The biggest issue with strat games like Age of Empires on consoles has always been the control. It sucks to select multiple units with a joystick and not a click and drag mouse. The tablet style controller on the Wii U solves that by letting you draw a box around units to select. Even for other applications you could turn the touch screen into a mouse of sorts where you have much finer control of aiming and selecting. Menu navigation with a touch screen is WAY less painless.

The story for FFVII was certainly what I remember most (and from reading the comments it appears for everyone else too). Those who didn't like it are usually the people who just skim the story as they play and miss the subtle plot twists which leads to their confusion. But one other thing that not many have mentioned yet was the materia system. The materia system was amazing and one of the best systems in any FF game to date. Anyone else remember spending hours equipping the double and triple AP weapons on Cloud and Cid to master Knights of the Round and W-Summon materia so you could face off against the two option Weapon bosses? I remember when I finally beat them both and started doing my victory dance. And also, one of the greatest debates of the modern era... Tifa >>>> Aeris nuff said

Keep in mind the only drivers available currently are BETA drivers. I'm going to wait for the final version of the drivers to make my purchase choice. But right now, considering the true next gen vid cards from ATI and NVIDIA can't be that far away I think the lower priced 3870 will be a great hold over until I fork out the big money again.

Anyone who says that Super Mario Galaxy has better graphics than Crysis and Halo 3 is a blind fan boy. What you need to say is that SMG's ART and Graphics STYLE are far superior. The Wii can never hope to match the PS3/360/PC in terms of graphical capability but what SMG shows is that lack of technical capability can be more than made up for through Graphical Innovation and Quality of Artistic Concept.
