I'd accept the game as an offshoot, but I don't like the premise of Link being captured. I think if Link is captured, he'd have to be extremely less competent (pretty boy? girlish i.e. fills in damsel in distress rule? weak? stupid?) to make a full game out of the idea. And I don't even want to ask why the princess is bothering to rescue Link. Although I like the overt implied romantic relationship that comes to mind.
BLEHHH! Sorry, one of the reasons I really like The Legend of Zelda series is its real time combat system, and if it were made into an RPG it would probably blend in a lot with most other JRPGs.
I know that I'm my wish isn't going to occur, but I wish nintendo would step up the VC releases by a few games a week. With the rate at which new console libraries are added to the pending VC games, I'm certain they can afford to provide us with a few more than 3 games per week.
It's really far more single player driven, too. The campaign is the brunt of the game, whereas in Star Wars: Battlefront the game mostly revolves around fighting your friends.
