[QUOTE="worlock77"]

I loved that series, but honestly, with Amy Hennig no longer at Crystal Dynamics I'm not sure I'd want to see them try to continue it.

[/QUOTE Ah good point. That's so unfortunate. Big Legacy of Kain fan here too. I would have be happy with a HD collection or maybe even remaking the original Bloom Omen: Legacy of Kain game (the one were Kain first becomes a vampire from the ps1) Out of all the crap that gets pushed out for games, I don't see why this should get passed by. There hasn't been a superb gothic game that has been released during this generation of consoles. But as the one poster mentioned, Amy Hennig would be my first choice to have on board the legacy of kain game if there was to be one.

If Sony implements this into the PS4, I will not be buying it regardless of what other features may exist. To me, this is a HUGE strike against the PS4. I play co-op games with my nephew (LittleBigPlanet, Modnation Racers, Playstation All Stars, etc...). So if I got a PS4 lets say and I buy LBP3, only one of us can play it even though we both share our accounts on one playstation? What if I invite a friend over to play the new Madden game or what not? He can't play it cause it'll lock him out. Or he would be stuck with as a guest. What if my friend wants to lend me a copy of the next final fantasy game? I cannot play it or try it out even? I just feel like there have to be better alternatives than this. If this practice is in full effect on PS4, I simply will not buy or support them. Sony is punishing their consumer with this move. The way to stop piracy is to cater to your customers and not bend them over the rail. I grunt about games wanting you to buy online passes if buy used, but I can sort of understand where they are coming from. I can deal with it. This act though is unacceptable. Find a different alternative

Casey Hudson said it before: "This is really the best place to start playing the Mass Effect series, this is the beginning, middle and end of the whole galactic war " So there you go, ME3 is the best place to start playing Mass Effect. Came from the lead guy himself. How could you go wrong? lol

I appreciate everyone's comments, whether agree or disagree. Let me clear this again because many posters did not seem to comprehend my first post. I'M NOT SAYING ME3 WAS A TERRIBLE GAME. A terrible game in my opinion is something like Mindjack. This isn't a Mass Effect sucks thread. I'm not saying it's a great game either. Everyone has opinions. Clearly in many fans eyes ME3 could not live up to the hype. I think it has been obvious that Bioware's quality has dipped greatly starting with Dragon Age 2. DA2 and ME3 were the only two Bioware games I played where I felt the titles did not live up to the Bioware standard. I've played the Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, KOTOR, Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. Those were great games that I thoroughly enjoyed. When I played through the story from beginning to end, I left the game feeling very satisfied. I cannot say the same with DA2 and ME3. There has been a huge dip in the story arcs. I won't rule out the possibility of ME4. Despite ME3 being lackluster, I would be lying if I said I wasn't interested in seeing where the new ME direction is going. Many posters have mentioned that there is so much lore and backstory that shouldn't be thrown away; but ironically they kind of did that in ME3 so to speak. I honestly don't see ME4 being anything but a prequel. If ME4 were to take place after ME3, then it would seem like the ending you chose could very well not have happened. **********************SPOILER*********************** Let's say, I chose the refuse ending in my Shepard's playthrough. The Reapers win and exterminate everyone in the galaxy. All races are gone. Now, when ME4 is released and if it's a sequel (forward in the ME timeline), there shouldn't be any Geth, Asari, Turian, Krogan, etc.... But if ME4 is made with those races in it, then I would assume my Shepard didn't really impact anything. Your decision at the end has consequnces for the galaxy. Do you see the contradiction? I think Bioware needs to handle ME4 with more care than what the care they handled with ME3 ***********************END SPOILERS*************** I'm not thrilled with the new direction Bioware is going in and the move away from being RPG is not a move I like because I feel that some of their best work is with RPG style elements: KOTOR. Mass Effect, Dragon Age. I won't be shutting the door completely, but I don't see them as the gaming elitists they once were. Let me mention again, ME3 was NOT a terrible game. This isn't a ME3 sucks thread. It's a discussion thread. Where do you think the next ME4 game should take place?

I wanted to discuss this topic with others on the XBox forums. When I found out that Bioware was considering fan feedback on Mass Effect 4, I about lost it. Now, I understand that we will not be Commander Shepard this time around; I get it. But my question is why bother with ME4? Let me provide some perspective on my affilation with Mass Effect. I was hooked on Mass Effect when it was first released on XBox. I have ME1, the collector's edition of ME2 and ME3, 2 ME shirts, 1 ME hat, 2 Comic Strips, I have all DLC for ME2 (minus the costume packs), I have Bring Down the Sky, and I have one ME book. So to sum up, I was a huge Mass Effect fan. I enjoyed ME1 and ME2 greatly and I regard them as works of art. Mass Effect is very story driven throughout the trilogy. It's a game where the story and characters are the forefront. Although ME3 was well below par, there were some postives from ME3 (Rannoch and Tuchunka for example). It wasn't a terrible game, but it wasn't great either. It was far from epic in my opinion as a ME fan. ME3 clearly could not keep the same standard set before it with the first two installments. Now, after a subpar ME game, Bioware is considering ME4? For those who saw the ending (yes singular), how can we be invested? I invested in ME big time. Not just merchandise wise, but I loved the story, the characters, the plots, seeing my choices in ME1 carry over to ME2 and seeing some of them in ME3. I loved the crew in ME1 and ME2. I invested into the story and was so looking forward to seeing how my choices through 3 games would impact the finale; needless to say though that all your choices and your investment of the course of 3 games had negligible impact on the finale. How can Bioware expect us to be interested in ME4 when They dropped the ball on ME3? I was really letdown by this once great gaming publisher that I once viewed as gaming elitists. I invested in ME before; only to be let down in the end. What is there to do in ME4 (assuming its a sequel and not a prequel)? Isn't the greatest threat to galatic civilization laid to rest (despite how poorly it was handled)? How can something be better? I guess I'm just baffled to see how ME4 would be relevant, especially after what happened in ME3. How can we invest in the story and characters when we know how poorly they were handled in the finale? Anyone else have similair opinions? I appreciate all opinions on this matter; whether you agree or disagree. Will you be interested in ME4 if Bioware were to release it?

Lol'd at Mass Effect 3 vote.guitarsmash09
Same here lol I would say the GOTY so far would have to be Borderlands 2....so far. Haven't had a chance to get a hold of AC3 or Halo 4 which could easily win GOTY. ME3 couldn't compete with the other games on the list.

That's a shame microsoft couldn't keep 1 vs 100. It was very popular with the community. It was a nice break from all the online shooters. I think cancelling 1 vs 100 was a bad move. It really was a blow the fans and community. imo, microsoft missed out on something big by getting rid of that. It was just a lot of fun to play with friends, family, and the xbox community. There really isn't anything out there that was like that. What a wasted potential from M$.

At first, the ps3 didn't meet expectations. Especially at a laughable $600 price tag. Sorry, not going to pay that much for a system. Then, the PS3 started losing exclusives (Tekken and Final Fantasy games for example). Sony came in with their chests puffed out thinking they were king because of their previous dominance with Playstation and Playstation 2. With two successful consoles, I think Sony assumed they were going to win this one hands down and they clearly underestimated their competition. XBox wasn't a flop this time around where as the original XBox had maybe a handful of great games at best. The XBox couldn't compete with the PS2's games at the time but the XBox 360 was definitely aiming to outdo the PS3. Also, Nintendo's Wii really got a lot of attention this generation and sold the most systems even if it is the least powerful system of the three. I thought for sure Sony was going to lose this console war, but Sony made some great moves, cut the price of their console (which I think helped a lot when they dropped it to $300), and developed new great first party games like Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, and inFamous to name a few. The Playstation Plus membership offers free games which is a real attractive feature. Also, they were able to snatch up one of Microsoft's best exclusives (Mass Effect 1 and 2) and bring it over to PS3. They started out really slow and poor, but they are finishing strong.

Mass Effect 3 was a game that fell way short of expectations. I've been a huge mass effect fanatic since I played ME1 on xbox. I've got the DLC for ME1 and all the DLC for ME2 (except character skins). I even bought the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 2. I read 3 paperback books, and 2 comics. I bought merchandise from the Bioware store like a few shirts and a hat. So I was really buying into the whole "Take Earth Back" theme that Mass Effect 3 had. I had multiple save files all with unique decision I made from previous installments ready to go. I was so eager to see how many choices would affect the outcome of the game. I was under the impression that there were going to be 16 different endings and my choices throughout the series would have an impact on the finale. I got the Collector's Edition for Mass Effect 3, went to the midnight launch, and spent the next week playing through it. The rest I think is self explanatory. It's not that ME3 was a terrible game, but it wasn't a great game either. It was a decent game, but clearly the weakest entry in the trilogy. There were so many things done wrong in that game (more than just the crayola ending choice). I could list the reasons, but ME3 was bipolar in my view. For every thing it did good, it did something else poorly. Whereas ME1 and ME2 had their flaws, there was so much more positives than negatives. ME3 was about 50/50 with pros and cons. Ultimately it was a legendary fail that did not meet the hype.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood was a very underrated game. I really enjoyed the story, combat, and scenery in the game. Before Red Dead Redemption, this was the best western theme game out in my opinion. I'd recommend a playthrough of the single player. I wish you could co-op with a friend as I felt it was a huge missed opportunity, but that's one of the few flaws I saw. It's a hidden gem in my opinion.
