Haha! It is impossible to take that petition seriously when they have the saddest picture of Don Mattrick I have ever seen on there. even the supporters are making sarcastic remarks on the petition page like : "It's so important that the Xbox one is shittier again" and "ill sign to help ps4 so we have no stupid people on the same console as me." This whole thing is ridiculous.
I don't think the console wars are going away anytime soon, as people get too much vicarious pride from their console brand doing well and being liked by others. It's a concept you can see in a lot of things; like taking someone to your favorite restaurant or watching a TV show you love together. If they start insulting it (or just simply criticize it), most people would be annoyed. Maybe not foaming at the mouth, but at least willing to argue.
Fanboism is just an extreme version of this concept, so I think console wars are inevitable. Plus, it's the internet. I rarely find such insane fanboys in real life.
“A lot of times, what has happened in the past is, studios have said, ‘How many people play that game? OK, then that means they’ll probably all go out and buy tickets.’ That is an incredibly poor way to make a movie.”
That might have been one of the smartest things I have heard someone say about a video game movie. That said, I think they should keep their scope narrow for the movie and focus on a story that doesn't try to encompass everything at once. Maybe the initial fall of Azeroth?
