mmm, I don't know anymore. Look I love Sony and I want to be as supportive as anyone else out there, but my limit is getting near. I was ok with waiting "until the end of the month" like I was told weeks ago. But now, adding another week to it, does not make me think that we are been respected as costumers. Look is simple, is not about when the store comes back, it really is about them giving us a set date for it. They are afraid that we won't like their set date, but I will rather know that I am waiting days, weeks, or months to get my service back. Waiting blindly is just terrible, and that's my reall issue with this entire thing.

SONY, a simple date will be enough! We are adults, we can handle the wait.

And how exactly do you expect them to have a perfect set date?

I'm no programer or coder or whatever, but I assume the process isn't quite so predictable. Sony doesn't own a crystal ball you know; they can't see into the future. If they give a date, thats just their guess based on where they are. Don't take the dates they give as specific, or you'll end up disappointed.

I've come to a glaringly obvious conclusion for this thread.

Its just a bunch of fanboys defending their game of choice.

Anyone with any indication of being an Xbox user (such a a Gears of War avatar or sig, or an anti-ps3 sig) is saying Gears looks better and is a better game.

Anyone with any indication of being a Playstation user (such as an Uncharted avatar or sig, or an anti-xbox sig) is saying Uncharted looks better and is a better game.

I myself fall into the second catagory. I have an Uncharted sig, and claim Uncharted 2 to be better. Am I a fanboy? I don't like to admit it, but yes. I love Uncharted so I'll blindly defend it. Gears fans will do the same. Brutal truth.

[QUOTE="DavidianMH"]Gameplay > graphics any day. Funconsole

Good thing Uncharted is way better than gears of war in that department :P. Haha its all opinion I know, but I personally hate to feel like I am controlling an old man (hunched over) on steroids (massive), that feels like he wants to be a car.

LOLOLOL I hate to control a guy that tries to be Lara Croft but to each his own...

lol

I don't blame him for wanting to be Lara Croft; her being that good at climbing and whatnot. That'd be awesome! Just image not being able to even jump... jk :P

Edit: This is completely off topic, but @ your sig (the guy who I quoted), I don't think it's quite conveying the message it tries to lol

Sure, its taking a stab at the PS3's network problems but having 99 other problems ain't so great either :)

(and yes, I know its just a parody of a song..)

All this bickering over which has better graphics between the 2 just illustrates well how little graphics have advanced in consoles in the past 3 years. These 2 games look similar in just about everything except color palette. These are just corridor shooters with corners cut at every turn to give the illusion of a better image than what is really there (every game does this to an extent and is what a good dev should strive to do when faced with limitations). Gears 3 just looks like new Gears 2 levels with slight improvements and UC3 looks like UC2 in a different setting with similarly trivial improvements (graphically speaking of course for each from what has been shown). We have seen the best these machines can produce and any further improvements will be minimal at best. With that said i think EPIC has great artists in their ranks as does ND and each team lends a signature unique look to the assets they produce and the reason the games look so close is strictly because of the top talent involved.eNT1TY

I agree with him! Excellent post

UC2 looks awful in that screen. UC2 doesn't even look as good as Gears 1 overall IMO, but even that screen makes it look worse than it really does.

Plus, UC MP is like a family friendly casual version of Gears MP. It's not even to be taken as a serious MP contender.

Opinions are fine, but this is pure fanboyism speaking.

Gears 1 is a great looking game, especially for the time it came out. Hell, it still has better visuals than most console games released today. However, compared to Uncharted 2? Theres no contest... Uncharted 2 is miles ahead of Gears 1 graphically. And rightfully so, it came out 3 years later.

And I'm not saying this just because I love Uncharted (yes, I know, my avatar blah blah blah); I love Gears also. But I mean really...

As for the MP thing, I don't even know what you're trying to say. Are you saying Gears is more competative? Possilby it is. But does that mean it's better? Uncharted can't be taken seriously as a MP game? It's regarded as one of the PS3's best.

Now back to the main topic: both Uncharted and Gears are great looking games, but this thread isn't really a fair comparison. It's comparing a 2009 game to a beta of a 2011 game. That's not equal.

How about this instead: compare Uncharted 3 to Gears of War 3 once they both come out, since they both release mere months apart.

I use dark. I think it looks better and I find it easier on the eyes since its, well... darker.

It depends on what you're comparing

Of all time? Nintendo. Zelda and Mario are simply iconic.

This gen? Sony. Uncharted, God of War, Littlebigplanet, Infamous, ect. Most are new gen IPs that are very successful and have a bright future. Nintendos 1st party games are still great this gen, but Zelda and Mario have been done for like 20 years and a franchise can only last so long before becoming a little repetative (though Mario Galaxy is an amazing fresh twist on the Mario exploration games)

I've played both Uncharted 2 and the Gears 3 beta, and I found Uncharted 2's graphics to be much more pleasing.

I think it's the bright sunny and colorful environments (though obviously not so apparent on some of the darker maps). In Gear's defence, they improved the color durastically over the drab greys of the original, but its still a little too dull for me (mainly browns and greys).

Graphics aside, Uncharted 2 is a hell of a lot more fun for me, but both are still great games.

The Orange Box - 5 games all with a decent amount of replayability (specifically TF2)

Red Dead Redemption - The core story wasn't too long, but the randomly generated side missions, wanted posters, hunting, ect all made for quite a bit of content.

[QUOTE="iPodGuy12"]

I made an account in early May when I got the $100 gift card for a PS3 for being a PowerUp Pro Member at Gamestop...

bbkkristian

How did you do that??? I'm a Powerup members pro and I didn't get that. :?

I'm a Powerup member also and didn't get the coupon. It was only sent out to a limited number of members.

Anyways, I have a similar question to the OP.

I registered my PSN account online a couple months back (way before the outage), but never signed into a PS3 with it. This is because I don't actually own a PS3 yet, but I recently bought one and it should arrive at my house this Tuesday.

So do I still get the welcome back package even though I never signed into a PS3 with my account? Because I signed up well before the outage.
