So who else wondered over to this review after seeing this game crop up in the GOTY nominations?

Holy moly Kevin was not kidding about that skill tree!

GS mixes up their GOTY thing each year, and having been at GS for like 10 years now, this has been definitely one of the more entertaining iterations I've seen. Good show.

I had to get a separate tab open to look up all these amazing games I have overlooked!

Looks like solid fun to me.

People need to think past the review scores. You should really be coming here to answer the question: Is this game fun for me? If the answer to that question is yes, then seriously consider playing the game. Simple.

Whether or not you want to play it now or further down the track when it's cheaper is a different question.

[Note: Coming from someone who will get both next gen consoles]

I will not buy this game until:

1. It is not always online.
2. They scrap the size limits for cities.

Only then will this game be appealing that I might consider actually spending some cash on this thing. I 100% guarantee I am not the only one in this boat.

A return to form it seems, swiping away the tedium that brought down AC3.

Excellent show! I have been puzzled about the facts on this topic for some time and this has cleared a lot up for me.

I have a 144Hz monitor, and the difference is definitely noticeable, even just by dragging windows on the desktop around. Of course most graphics-intensive games these days won't even get close to that refresh rate, even on a powerful rig, but even for slightly older stuff such as TF2 you can get the full benefit easily.

@simonbarfod New GS review system allows multiple staff members to review games. However, there's still an official score adopted by a lead reviewer; and other reviews are simply food for thought to give different perspectives.

Honestly, there is an opinion for every side these days. If you think a game looks interesting, just play it. Want a collated opinion? Look at the metacritic score.
