I realize that many games are praised for their story. I never said that stories were useless or unnecessary. I simply said that without decent gameplay, the story elements might be forgotten or ignored.
A great example of this is the game which this very thread means to discuss. I gave the game an honest chance. But I found the gameplay so unappealing that the story was reduced to a distant and vague distraction. So I stopped playing it.
Also, I didn't realize I needed to labal everything I said as my opinion. I'm the one who's saying it. You'd think it'd be obvious.

I actually didnt like The Darkness that much, the story only had a few good parts, anyone that says its great doesnt know anything about good sotry plots, but you said that the story in a game means nothing if it doesnt have a deccent gameplay or graphics, any game can shine if it has at least 1 of 3 things, graphics, gameplay or story, just look at Gears of War, the gameplay isnt that good, the story sucks big time, but the graphics made it a great game, only a few games got to be great in these 3 things.
