yea you should be able to easily, you could do 3.7 pretty easy if you have a well ventelated case.PointedCow
I got an Antec 900 case with fans on max. I don't really need to go any higher than 3.5Ghz right now because I'll sync my cpu and my ram (2000x7 and ddr2 at 1000Mhz) and later on I will get a cpu cooler and get it to around 4Ghz.
Alright i was wondering if i could reach 3.5Ghz on a e8400 with stock cooler. I don't really need to go any higher than that, and if i have to I will switch to aftermarket cooling. Thanks in advance.
[QUOTE="citizen-zero"]4870 overheats like crazy. Only way to bring the temps down is by hacking the driver......The card sucks. The fan is also really loud. Get the Evga GTX260 FTW instead. It runs 10% faster then the 4870, and doesn't have overheating problems. Regariding the Crossfire VS SLI......Some games simply do not work with Crossfire. That's not a problem with SLI. So, if you want a GOOD QUALITY product, get a GTX 260DaGamingGod
What are you talking about? My 4850 runs certain games faster than the 260 so I'm sure the 4870 beats the 260. + my card has never overheated even though it's overclocked in a crappy case.I suggest you go and check more than one benchmarks. The gtx 260 beats the 4850 in most games, and is almost on par with the 4870, but the ati card is a lttle faster.
