Um, Because it was the best game of last year??!!?? Seriously tho, this was the freshest game i've played in YEARS. Finally a developer had the stones to make a game that doesnt hold you're hand and do every little thing for you. Im 32 years old, I've been playing games since before the majority of people on this forum were born, I don't need to be told how to play a video game anymore. Let me figure it out myself. The sense of accomplishment when you beat a boss and finish a level in this game is unparralleld. The environments and atmosphere were just epic. Felt like I was playing an old school nes game updated to todays standards. A true masterpiece.

To be honest, I love gears of war. How you feel about it, is actually how i feel about the uncharted series, although i wouldnt give the game (uncharted 2) a 7.5. More like an 8 or 8.5. When you say you would give gears of war a 7.5 do you mean personally? Or if you were reviewing the game unbiasedly would you really give it a 7.5? Because to be honest that sounds pretty fanboyish.

It seems as though we're going this route, with the release of Kinect and Move, you can see both Microsoft and Sony trying to cash in on what Nintendo started. I for one hope its not true, but if it is I am very afraid for the future of console video gameing. What do you guys think?

[QUOTE="II_Seraphim_II"]lol. story? both games pretty much have the crappiest stories in the history of video games, so debating which one will have a better story is pretty much a moot point :POrchid87

KZ series have an amazing story that is comparable to real-life conflicts, not some "lol alienz invashun".

Seriously people, if you are playing either of these games for their story, you are playing the wrong game.

And just to set you straight, Locusts arent aliens. They originated from the same place as the humans in the game. Maby you should play gears before you start judging it.

The thing that bothers me most about dbags like this is that they continually say that video games are for KIDS! While kids do play video games, surveys show that 50-60% of video game players are ages 18-35. I'm 31 years old and love playing video games. Almost all of my friends play video games and not a one of them is under 21 years old. As a grown adult I have the ability to decide what games are appropriate for me and my kids, no one else.

Why does no one seem to complain about the movie industry? I see 12 year olds going to R rated movies all the time and no one seems to blink an eye about it. There is no Sex, Violence, or Racism in movies? If the critics of video games think that's the case then they are either delusional or stupid.
