Mm... Illmatic = cIassic It Was Written = cIassic I Am... = good Nastradamus = mediocre Stillmatic = amazing God's Son = good Street's Disciple = solid (would make a great single LP) Hip Hop is Dead = good Untitled = decent Lost Tapes = great Distant Relatives = good And Nas is my favorite rapper.SmittyPeppers

agreed, Nas peaked too soon though. Hopefully he will come out with another "matic" album before he is done. Memory lane: my favorite track of all time by Nas.

LMAO, that's hilarious. there have been countless underground classics over the last 10 years. the only records that nas released in the 90's that are worth mentioning is illmatic and it was written. illmatic is still the greatest hip hop record of all time though.....IMHO of course.

lazerface216

Stillmatic was an amazing album...it shut Jay Z up

yeah but stillmatic didn't come out in the 90's. honestly, i find it to be a solid but extremely overrated album.

I loved it though, Ether, One Mic, Rewind and Got Yourself A Gun are classic tracks. It also recived 5 mics...just like Illmatic.

[QUOTE="6_volts"][QUOTE="IWKYB"] That's a terrible excuse.Desmonic

What else is there?

Besides him being a brainless idiot?..Nothing.

C. Ronaldo is still quite good...he is just not what he used to be. He is more of a celebrity now, kinda like Beckham.

Underground hip-hop is where you'll find the greatest lyricists. P.O.S. is definitely one of the best in my opinion, and he only has two solo CD's under his belt so far (not to mention being a part of Doomtree). No telling what he can make of himself in 10 years.

lazerface216

Nas' 90s Rap > Today's underground. Also you can't really compare someone with only 2 albmus with someone who has 10+...Illmatic is one of the (if not the) greatest rap album of ALL TIME.

I wonder how much of the Spanish squad will return in 2012 and 2014.bluezy

For the 2014 WC

Casillas might...depending on how fit he is. He will be 33.

Xavi...probably not since he will be 34.

Puyol...is not coming, he will be 36.

Capdevilla...will be 36 as well

David Villa...will return most likely, but he might be past his prime by than.

The rest are to return most likely

Radiohead did The Bends, then they did OK Computer. Then they topped that with Kid A. Then they came out with Hail to the thief. Then in Rainbows. All amazing work, not a bunch of lame, mediocre stuff which pails in comparison to their first albums.

The Roots are better than Nas because their new album is incredible; and most of what came before it is just as good.

Ace_WondersX

Black Thought is better than nas because the roots have released nothing but albums ranging from good to amazing and they released three back to back to back cl@ssics(illadelph halflife, do you want more?!?! and Things Fall Apart). Nas has one cl@ssic album, 2 good ones and a bunch of mediocre albums and one terrible one

Actually Nas has two of the best albums in hip-hop history IMO, "Illmatic" and then the follow-up "It Was Written", I think people just write off "It Was Written" because by time it was release a lot of artist adopted Nas' method of rapping and it had less of a "WOW factor"

Exactly...I actually liked "It Was Written" more than Illmatic. "The Message", "If I Ruled The World", "I Gave You Power" and "Affirmative Action" are some his best songs of all time. Stillmatic and God's Son were also amazing albums.

Will it predict the final?

supa_badman

Agreed 100%...I would like someone else to post something better than these lyrics:

Nas: Greatest Rapper of All Time

mexicangordo

I am sorry but Eminem doesn't even come close to this.

What are you talking about? Look at Nas's lyrics man, he uses way to much "Slang" and sure it makes his words raw and they sound great, but when it comes to lyrics they can be sloppy (not to say they are bad). And I still think Layrn is better than both of them I mean look at this verse... Look at the Meter, look at his word play, try pronouncing all of that at once and feel how the lyrcis flow with eachother. At the same time he isn't being vague, you can clearly read an hear what he is talking about. Being bias aside, Eminem is the best lyricist out of any modern/mainstream artist. And to me Lauryn Is better than both of them

Eminem-

"I sit back with this pack of Zig Zags and this bag
Of this weed it gives me the **** needed to be
The most meanest MC on this -- on this Earth
And since birth I've been cursed with this curse to just curse
And just blurt this berserk and bizarre **** that works
And it sells and it helps in itself to relieve
All this tension dispensin these sentences
Gettin this stress that's been eatin me recently off of this chest
And I rest again peacefully (peacefully)..
But at least have the decency in you
To leave me alone, when you freaks see me out
In the streets when I'm eatin or feedin my daughter
To not come and speak to me (speak to me)..
I don't know you and no,
I don't owe you a **** thing
I'm not Mr. N'Sync, I'm not what your friends think
I'm not Mr. Friendly, I can be a prick
If you tempt me my tank is on empty (is on empty)..
No patience is in me and if you offend me
I'm liftin you 10 feet (liftin you 10 feet).. in the air
I don't care who is there and who saw me destroy you
Go call you a lawyer, file you a lawsuit
I'll smile in the courtroom and buy you a wardrobe
I'm tired of arguin' (of arguin')..
I don't mean to be mean but that's all I can be is just me"

yeah "The Way I am" is one of his best songs but Nas sloppy? I think you should listen to this(this isn't even his best track)

Agreed 100%...I would like someone else to post something better than these lyrics:

Nas- Affirmative Action

"Life's a b!tch but God-forbid the b!tch divorce me
I'll be flooded with ice so hellfire can't scorch me"

It Aint Hard To Tell

"This rhythmatic explosion, is what your frame of mind has chosen
I'll leave your brain stimulated, **** is frozen
Speak with criminal slang, begin like a violin
End like Leviathan, it's deep, well, let me try again
Wisdom be leakin out my grapefruit troop
I dominate break loops, givin mics men-e-straul cycles
Street's disciple, I rock beats that's mega trifle"

Verbal Intercourse (his best verse)

"Through the lights cameras and action, glamour glitters and gold/I unfold the scroll, plant seeds to stampede the globe/ When I'm deceased, by then the beast arise like yeast/ to conquer peace leaving savages to roam in the streets".

"From the womb to the tomb, presume the unpredictable/ guns salute life, rapidly, that's the ritual".

One Mic

"Shoulda knew she wasn't true she came to me when her man caught a sentence
Diamonds are blindin, I never make the same mistakes
Movin with a change of pace, lighter load, see now the king is straight
Swellin my melon cause none of these **** real
Heard he was, tellin police, how can a kingpin squeal?
This is crazy, I'm on the right track I'm finally found
You need some soul searchin, the time is now"

Nas: Greatest Rapper of All Time

jeremiah06

Nas vs big l

Illmatic/ It Was Writtenare better...although its not really fair to compare both since Big L had like 1 album while nas is above 10 now.
