He was their offensive coordinator. The rivalry has already been fairly big. Belichick has despied Mangini and the Jets for attempting to "steal" their players. They tried for Deion Branch and Asante Samuel at recent points. The Jets also "stole" their Curtis Martin, Tim Dwight, and more. If you have watched past Jets/Pats game, you'd know that Belichick and Mangini rarely look each other in the eye and barely even shake hands. They can barely even call them by their name at the Press Conferences, either. But then again, are you surprised? It's Bill!
