I love to see americans complaining about the prices of their videogames. This 80usd number equals like 1/14 of your federal minimum wage (in a month). In Brazil for example, one single game costs 1/4 of our monthly minimum wage. It is like if you had to pay 260usd for one game over there.
No wonder services like game pass are huge in Latam. We should be so lucky to see videogames not being literally a luxury item for most households in Brazil.
This is the best racing game out there hands down. You get the nerdy stuff for car lovers but if also works if you are just in for some driving havock. Glad to see more players being able to enjoy it.
I went back to Sea of Thieves recently after a 2 years break and I am worried that Indiana Jones will fall short in the puzzle category for me by comparison, specially after this review.
If the action is clunky, and the puzzles are meh, what else is there to it? I appreciate the story and art behind it but that is not the main reason why I play videogames
Here is an idea. What if they actually had the balls to make the whole game stop-motion like animation instead of giving in to an audience that cannot appreciate artistic choices? Not everything needs to be hyper realistic and 120fps for crying out loud.
@olddadgamer: I see. It does make sense at the surface level but it does still comes down to taste. A Game like Legend of Zelda gets a 10 but it is still not for everyone. Same for The Last of Us and so on.
Taste is subjective yes, but also constructed. If a game is flawless everyone should try it, even the people who might have not yet played that "niche genre".
I mean, 9 is an excellent score and I am not coming back here to say it deserved a 10. I just feel like production value (including marketing money) tends to get that final grade to get a game to a 10 in most media outlets.
On the opposite side, we have other entertainment medias like cinema and music where critics were able to distant themselves from that angle, and more often than not, the big budget content tends to be less valued there as they focus more on the actual qualities of the piece. Maybe it is just a matter of maturity of the medium...
@Vodoo: I went there and I couldn't find any real explanation about standards of heuristics they use to review their games. It looks like a big subjective "anything goes" where every reviewer can use whatever metrics and heuristics they feel like at the moment.
It seems this game got a 9 just because it is an indie game. Indie games rarely gets 10 on this website (or any other for that matter). I feel like production value (and marketing investment) is the only thing missing here for it to be a 10.
@rabidgiantsr: dude stop! This way the editors and readers of this website will realize that the majority of gamers are not 30+yo single dudes who live with their parents!!! The awareness will kill them!
