5 Franchises That Have Gone Down The Drain.

Spyro

Original Developers- Insomniac

Current Developers- Etranges Libellules

What Happened? - Spyro was a great series of games on the PS1, and will always be a legendary game. However starting on the PS2, spyro went down the drain, combat became tedious, story was stupid, and it didnt compare to the other games.

Any Hope Reviving It? - Most Likely Not. About a 25% chance I'd say. Now that the Spyro trilogy is over (programmed by Estrages Libellules) I'm assuming someone else will have a chance to give life to Spyro. If the next few spyro games are no good, then I'd say all hope is lost.

Crash Bandicoot

Original Developers- Naughty Dog

Current Developers- Radical Entertainment

What Happened? - Same thing as Spyro, It was a great series of games on the PS1, and will always be a remembered game. However starting on the PS2, it didnt go down the drain. The games stayed good, but nothing like the orginals. Now, we get these empty games, with no original crash type content. Now they use monsters, odd levels, and more combat, Crash Bandicoot for the PS1 was more of a platformer than an action game.

Any Hope Reviving It? - No. Since Crash games have been decent, they willl never go back to the way they should have been.

This Crash game was decent, but nothing like the originals. And Crash has a tatoo. Why?!

Sonic the Hedgehog

Original Developers- Sonic Team

Current Developers- Sonic Team

What Happened? - Slowly but surley, as time moved on, Sonic started to show his age, and no matter what Sonic Team did, they could not do anything right. They had thier major downfall after the 2D sonics. The majority ofthe 3D Sonics stunk. Sonic unleashed had levels that worked like the original games, and people loved those, but hated the werehog levels. Also, people really liked the 2D DS sonic games. Get the message Sega?

Any Hope Reviving It? - Yes! Sega revealed a new 2D Sonic game built from the ground up. This is what fans have been begging for. But will they do it right?

Guitar Hero

Original Developers- Harmonix

Current Developers- Neversoft

What Happened? - Harmonix was great at Guitar Hero. Chose great songs. Good graphic design and character modles And the made it guitar only. Neversoft came in, added the whole band, then focused on specific bands like Aerosmith. Since they added full band, we dont get songs like Jordan, or any guitar only songs. I full instruments stay with Rock Band, and Guitar Hero stay with Guitar. Also, Neversoft keeps changing the character models and graphics, and reusings songs constantly.

Any Hope Reviving It? - No, as time goes on, Neversoft will make money, and they will continue to compete with rockband. No hope saving this.

Yeah, its fake, but dont be suprised if Neversoft is thinking "I think we just stuck gold"

Donkey Kong

Original Developers- Nintendo

Current Developers- Nintendo

What Happened? - Nintendo had some great Donkey Kong games. But as of the gamecube, we havent seen much of him. Except for those stupid Bongo games. If we dont see a Wii Donkey Kong Country then i think Donkey Kong is dead.

Any Hope Reviving It? - Maybe, if Nintendo squeezes out a good, Bongo-less, Donkey Kong Wii game.

Nintendo, we need something like this, but a bit, newer, Bongo-less, and for Wii or DS. Can you do it?

Let me let you know the following. i saw all three press confrences but only the Sony one live (Why? cuz i turned on Gamespot and it was on) and I saw a few days of E3 and I saw a lot of it on G$.

Here is my opinion on the E3 Press Confrences and more

Microsoft- Personally, I knew this was going to be the best. Why? Because I love my 360, I dont have a PS3, and I had doubted nintendo. The confrence was wonderful. They showed enough games that I liked to row my boat and keep me intrested. But nothing seemed too exciting except for maybe, Your In The Movies. However only being 14, i cant play the majority of Rated M games. So the beginning bored me, so did Gears of War and all. However, I love Bethsda so I drooled over Fallout. Then I got really excited at Banjo Kazooie. I played the first one as a kid and I love it. I like Rare but I wasnt a huge fan of Kameo. I am hoping it will be good. Something else that got me excited was the Square Enix guy. I love square enix and I love RPG's. I went Insane after they announced FFXIII for the 360. Then and there I was sure I would buy 3/4 of those RPG's for sure and maybe all 4. I was very satisfied and excited after the conference. Games- After the confrence I didnt see much that appealed to me except for Maybe Hawx. But thats it.

Nintendo- nintendo's CONFRENCE was, well awful. They started out, bragging that the wii is for everyone. The this lady wouldnt shut up about her stupid previously broken wrist. After she did shut up they bragged about sales. And more sales. And audiences and commercials. And sales.... And sales. When they finally got to the games I got excited. Nothing exciting afterward. I got extremely bored up until animal crossing. I love animal crossing and I couldnt wait to hear about the new one. I was pleased at wii speak and dangerously exited about the game. After that, Wii Sports 2. I was cuious at this. And honestly I was steamed at the enhancer thing. Now i hae to buy more of those! No way! So i may buy it but no enhancer please... too mant add ons! The Jacket, board, enhancer, speak! FED UP WITH IT! And the rest of the confrence was boring and everything looked dumb. Games- After the confrence I was hating nintendo. However this round table made Nintendo almost as good as microsoft. They announced a new (If my sources are right) Pikimin, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Zelda, AND Mario. that PWNS! So i am happy with nintendo.

Sony- I do not have much to say about sony. I do not have a PS3 but i have a PS2 and PSP. The whole thing was about Playstation Network. Yawn. Nothing seems promising for sony here. Nothing excting about the Ps2. when they got to the PSP I was stoked! Resistance Looked good and Loco roco looked good but thats it. After 9 minutes, they never talked about the PSP after that. Very disappointed in sony and nothing looks good for them. I love sony but they have gone downhill a bit. Games- Afterward i did not see anything exciting at all. however Little big planet looked great, But not a reason to buy a PS3.
