In political theory, the far ends of the spectrum are indicated by Communism on the Far Left, and by Fascism on the Far Right. These are basic political definitions. Anyone who has payed even a SLIVER of attention while playing Kojima's games would know that he shows equal concern and disdain for both extremes. The message of his entire career has been to look past the constructs that push us in to those opposing directions. If you do not see the radical political (or apolitical) messages in the MGS series, then I am afraid you simply do not understand what is happening in those games.
@Rufus_the_rat: Unfortunately, what most of my fellow American citizens don't realize is that divided is exactly how the people in power want us. Divide & Conquer. The more focused we are on hating each other, the less wary we are of the corporate-political stranglehold that has infected our "democracy." Hmm... who was that guy who made a series of games intended to warn about just that?
@darthrevenx: Yeah, I'm actually a big Black Panther fan, and have really been looking forward to his introduction. But damn if that synopsis isn't the same old song and dance. Let T'Challa deal with a massive threat, but leave the world alone already, people! It's killing the impact of it all.
If their directors keep churning out work that only a time machine could fix, then why does Warner Brothers keep signing the same directors??? If I hired a team that created a product that had this kind of response, I would replace everyone that contributed to the factors behind that.
@sellingthings: If I remember correctly, in one case there was a smaller liquid-metal, shape shifting sentinel, and then more recently they have actually installed sentinel technology inside living human hosts, creating a type of cyborg sentinel.
