that's a very tunnel-vision response. isn't it all a matter of personal preference?
how wii is just not enough by itself. he has a gaming laptop so its ok. wii only owners are just nintendo fanboys. you could say the same about the other factions, but to just own a wii is terrible if co nsider yourself a gamer. you are not getting the full experience. There just games.

I wish i had that game as i did enjoy fusion and zero mission.
[QUOTE="yoshi_64"][QUOTE="meetroid8"][QUOTE="-RPGamer-"][QUOTE="yoshi_64"] Frankly, i'm concerned too that Nintendo would usher more money and advertising to games like Wii Fit over something like third party support, or new IPs or heck... just games more likely for the core audience. (Where's my Pikmin 3 :| ) Shinobishyguy
Exactly. Where's this big money on the core games that made them who they are after all this time? Also, like you said I doubt new titles like Pikmin 3, Kid Icarus 3 (wishful thinking on my part :)) etc will get anywhere near the same love. That's kind of sad to me. I understand the attraction of the new market and it's money, and that's cool there's room enough for that... however, I don't like watching core games that carried the company to this point get a fraction of the marketing.
Just to brighten your guys' day Pikmin 3 is probably the big announcement. What other game appeals to both casuals and hardcores? My guess is Pikmin 3 is NOT the big announcement. Call it a hunch if you wish, but Pikmin was more the core audience. If anything, it could be a nice tie in for both the core and non-gamer categories, but somehow I'm going to say that won't happen. Likely because it would be the "Third" installment in a series, that alone could make Nintendo think otherwise. Why you ask? Partly because it's very rare that most games succeed more than their predescessors by gaining new market. If anything, most games typically get less and less or just stay the same. Pikmin hardly had a large following, I believe the second game sold pretty poorly if I wasn't mistaken.
Well they better have something planned for the core gamer later this year. I think I speak for many nintendo fans when I say that I wouldn't touch wiifit with a 80 foot poll. It's good to try new things, you might like the the game if you tried it.
To many people will refer back to a long lost gaming era with to much fondness that has more to do with their own personal timing then the actual merits of the generation.
You are fast becoming the grumpy old men of gaming. Talking about the good ole' days that are long gone. SNES refers back to a time in your life when gaming was a lot fresher to you, and those days will never ever come back.

I still like donkey kong country 2 more than pretty well every game i have ever played. The only game i like more is ocarina of time.
