@Xristophoros: I get your point, but Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart and Splatoon (for Japan) are the very definition of evergreen titles. People who have held back on the Switch will still want to play them and may buy it when they have a bit of extra cash around. All the smaller games will help, but it is wrong to assume that Zelda and Mario will just stop pushing sales.
And if things slow down, Ninti still has a few aces up their sleeves. Either Poke'mon - the biggest media franchise in the world - Animal Crossing, or Smash Bros announcements are sure to fuel sales when need be.
@Xristophoros: Well, that is great! We are in this to have fun, and have different tastes not to mention diffetent lifestyles and schedules. I just do not have the time to sit in front of the TV that very often, but the Switch fits within my day perfectly.
@Xristophoros: Depends on what you like to play I guess. I have a very broad taste in gaming, which includes not only big western AAAs but JRPGs, retro, and indies. It is very unlikely that I run out of quality titles to play on my Switch.
The other point is the form factor, speed and versatility of the device. It is just more convenient to use than a traditional home console or a standard handheld.
As for Nintendo first party games, they are the sort of experience that I simply wouldn't want to go without. If I did not play the lastest Zelda or something as unique as Splatoon I'd feel like I was missing out; I would not really feel that way about, say, the newest Assassins Creed or Battlefield.
Anyway PS4/Switch combo is working great for me, with my gaming time probably split 20/80 percent in the latter's favour.
@kaidou069: That title's advertising budget alone probably eclipses Mario's development costs, and there is also all the effort they put into creating an online gambling system. That shit's gotta cost money too...
As a lifelong PS fan (well, Sega and Atari before that) I was very happy with my PS4. Since I got the Switch last year though, I just find it much more preferable to play on the little machine. Haven't finished one game on the PS4 since! Switch is a wonderful little console that is all about games and fun. I think every serious(or casual) gamer must try it for themselves.
