@no-scope-AK47: of course PC gamers care about graphics, that's all they bang on about, and why they spend huge amounts on GPUs!

It seems to me that PC gamers can't accept the fact that console gamers can enjoy games on a £350 machine, while they have spent £1000 on a high end rig and really don't enjoy the games any more.
I actually played it for the very first time last night ( picked it up for £5 in GAME) its always been on my radar but I'd never got round to it before. First impressions are pretty good, graphically its held up pretty well, and the setting is atmospheric. Anyway, can't go wrong for a fiver!
Gotta be 6th gen for me. Mainly because for me that was a time before responsibilities (mortgage, kids, etc) where I was able to have all 3 consoles (ps2, xbox, GameCube) and had a lot more free time to enjoy as much gaming as I wanted!
Properly looking forward to it! Stealth is one of my favourite game styles, and from what ive seen the developers have given a fair amount of control over whether you want to use abilities, objective markers etc, or not, which allows for a better sense of immersion.
I intend to pick one up in the next few weeks, but I'll still be keeping my 360 as well until there's a better range of games for the PS4.
I don't see any harm in waiting, but I'm just excited to join this gen of gaming after the 8 years of the last one!
@560ti: go on then show me a system for 500 which will be good for 6years and be on par or better than a ps4, forget online performance is what I want im a single player gamer I dont care for online so yes it would be $400 when it comes down to tech, not once anyone has shown any evidence.
For $500 I would of chosen the FX 6300 instead of the 8320 and a 7870ghz (or 7870XT Tahiti) instead of the Asus 670 (those two choices at the time would of driven the price from $660 to around $550).
Forget online ? Majority of gamers are playing online and most games now a days are driven with the emphasis/focus of playing online (I'm not going to scratch an important aspect of gaming just because you don't like it).
My point was the PS4/xboxone are more considered $500-600 investments (I don't personally know a single person who paid less than $500 on day 1) and as a result a $600-700 PC with 2-3x the power is a justifiable comparison ($660 for 2-3x the power, free online, and $100 in games sounds like a strong argument to me).
Yes, but the point remains that a console will be usable as intended for much longer than an equivalently priced PC.
not exactly how it works.
If you buy a PC today with the same specs as a console. Guess what? its usable as intended forever just like a console
Not for gaming (which is what the discussion is about).
um that build will be good for the entire life of the PS4. What are you talking about?
So that build will play games released in 8 years time in a standard that is superior to a console ? Really?
Then how come every PC gamer I know updates their graphics card at least every 3 years, and many only go 2 without an update. In fact I was talking to a friend the other day who was commenting that his 3 year old card wasn't coping with many of the new games being released unless he dropped the settings way down.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that this whole argument was about bettering a console for the same price, and yet I'd warrant that in less than 3 or 4 years time a system like that would require a new games settings to be turned way down so to be playable. Whereas with optimization, a consoles graphics will only get better, and that's not speculation, it's simple fact. So the console will actually be providing a superior experience graphically to the non-upgraded PC.
A continually upgraded PC will of course provide a better experience than a console, but a non upgraded budget PC will not match the level of a console as time goes on. What is it about that some people can't accept? It's no disrespect to the PC community, it's just a fact.

Yeah that doesn't sound trivial, and they might be somewhat painful now, but if there's something loose and it gets looser, the shocks could get much worse.
I'd return it ASAP!
