PS One emu for PSP by Sony

Sony has announced a legal PS One emulator for the PSP to be released with a feature firmware update.

From IGN:

PS Biz Brief 06: PSP E-DistributionDownload and play PSOne games.by Chris Roper

March 14, 2006 - Sony's Ken Kutaragi continues to drop PlayStation Portable news during the company's PlayStation Business Briefing 2006 as he's just announced that the PSP will see "E-Distrubution" features added sometime in the future.

Users will be able to boot software directly from their Memory Stick, all official-like this time around (you know what I mean). The first major announcement for use of this will be a series of PSOne games - yes, you will be able to download classic PlayStation titles and play them on your PSP. No word yet as of whether or not you'll be able to transfer games directly via disc or not, or which games we should see first, but more news on this as it comes in.

Commodore Combo

Commodore earlier this month on the CES in Las Vegas presented their new portable gaming system "Combo". Running Windows CE, it is supposed to be able to play movies, music and games. It also features GPS navigation.

So, will it be a flop or a new Supermachine?

Bryants mod bringing more life to the EaW demo

This Bryant is a smart guy for sure. This Empire at War mod of his worked emtremly well. Making it possible to play as the empire and unlocking even more planets this mod really made the demo last much longer. Hands up for Bryant!

First look: Star Wars Empire at War

Just played the demo, and at the first look it sure seems like a good game. At least for Star Wars fans.

OK, my expectations for this game were really high and they still are, and the 2 first minutes of playing I got a bit disapointed. The whole game seemed a bit "cheezy", but after playing a while I really got into the game, and as a Star Wars fan I love it. And it's not "cheezy" at all! Petroglyph sure has done a great job this far, and I believe that the "full game" will be even better.

The spacebattles are awesome and worked perfectly, and the ground battles also amazed me. Finally we will have a great Star Wars RTS with the same qualities as fore example the C&C series. Can't wait to play the full version, Wars in the World of Stars really rocks!

Nintendo DS Lite

Well, for some people the original DS seems a little to large. That's not a problem anymore, because yesterday Nintendo's Satoru Iwata announced a new version of the DS. A small "lite" version. Hands up for the Nintendoguys "milking cows"!

The guitarists tool

Finally Guitar Pro 5 is released. This time it uses a "realistic sound engine", RSE to reproduce the tablatures, and the sound is amazingly great, no more midi sound for me! Especially good is the acoustic guitar, drum and bass sound engines. The overdrive/ distortion guitar effects sometimes may seem a little fake, but in overall it's really good. The program also feautures wah- wah and a lot of different reverb and tubescreamer settings. And of course, if you hate th enew RSE engine, you can disable it and use the renowned midi function instead. But really, if you rather wan't to listen to midi playbacks, you need to get a LIFE!
