@Benny_a: it selling 80% less means that 80% fewer people actually experienced it. which means their opinions don't matter. of the people who took the time to review it, most did so favorably.
that's it, that's the end of the discussion.
and having both watched the video and read your reiteration of it, no, diversity does not make it SJW propaganda. Regardless of which obscure youtube channel you found that agrees with your sensibilities. In order for it to actually be propaganda it would have to feature some semblance of an indication that because they are not a white male they are better, which is a theme completely absent in the game throughout its entirety.
thanks for playing tho, kiddo.
bring up some points that actually make sense and we'll talk again. otherwise you bore me.
@Benny_a: really? is that why watchdogs has high 70s low 80s (ie: good scores) on metacritic and wd2 has roughly the same http://www.metacritic.com/search/all/watch%20dogs/results
and as for MEA being sjw propaganda, so you don't have your own argument, or any reason to believe it other than because someone else told you. thanks, that's all I needed to know.
@Benny_a: right, exactly they wanted to do it, but couldn't. the entire premise of andromeda was that they would do it now that they could. also by your logic andromeda is just as linear, it just allows for mechanics like exploration
@Benny_a: except that you didn't play me 1 as a linear story. of the 3 of them it was by far the least linear. and it matters because that was the premise andromeda was built on. and the vast majority of people were happy the franchise was finally being taken back in that direction, now that the tech could live up to it. Mostly because linear RPGs are BORING.
@Barighm: after I said that they officially confirmed that they "never" had plans for DLC. which obviously isn't true, they were talking about it post-launch.
so in other words I'm done defending this game and the developers of it. The single player was good, didn't deserve a tenth the hate it got, it was at least as good as the 1st game. the multiplayer is fun, it builds on the success of the same from ME3. but at its heart mass effect is a single player franchise and this is a vote of no confidence much worse titles like dragon age 2 never got.
the really disappointing thing is that mass effect andromeda made, and continues to make money. but because of public outcry from people who, the vast majority of which never gave the game a chance because they saw a glitch compilation video, theyre pulling the plug.
@Benny_a: except the first game was supposed to be open world. it became a much more linear experience in the 2nd and even moreso in the 3rd but originally the franchise was going to be open world, they just scaled it back when they realized they couldn't really do what they wanted with the level of restraints put on the tech at the time. And when they announced that andromeda was going to finally live up to the promise of the first game people were happy about it. the problem wasn't the open world, it was the fact that the open world they did was a little more reminiscent of what they wanted to do with me's 1,2, and 3 as opposed to updating it to being more modern.
@Silverline62: ^this^ I mean seriously, the only source for the DLC actually being cancelled is from a company which according to EA they've never worked with... so...
