For you that say you playstation was not connected to the Net then why are you on here say your getting the error. The error only happens when you try to log online. Now tell me how you getting the error if you not connected to the net there would be no reason for you to try to sign in if you not connected to the net. If your ethernet from your router is plug in then your PS3 was connected just because your not signed in doesn't mean you not connected to the net. I would assume that it probably was not connected to the net and you got on your PS3 and decided that you would log online but what you didn't realize that as soon as your PS3 gets plugged in with a ethernet cable or connected wireless it does a test to the psn network to make sure your PS3 is connected to the internet in the first place. rlejeuneMany people have reported that they didn't even have the router on when they got the issue, and the date is hardly coincidencial. It doesn't explain why it only affects some models of the PS3, while newer ones can connect and work just fine... I still don't see how the PSN would tamper on the date of the system when it can be changed at will. Finally, I was able to download stuff from thePSNonmy PS3 (likethe Bayonetta update), but couldn't use it... This makes the issue far less likely a PSN issue than an internal clock problem with the date.

[QUOTE="Mr_Fujiv1"]I think this is just another way for them to get us to buy the PS3 slim and make more money, it wouldn't suprise me one bit if they didn't release this bug! i am so ***** right now! ... I think they will end up fixing this but they will drag it on so we get soo frustrated and buy the slim.NinjaStaticGood luck with that. I'll just buy a "NEW" 80gb PS3 model and NEVER plug it into an ethernet cable. I hate the Slim models. I prefer the external features of the regular PS3 consoles, not to mention the backwards compatibility. By the way, some people will get so frustrated that they will simply jump ship and buy a 360. The reverse happened when Xbox Live crashed for an entire month in late December 2007.The problem is, not even offline games work. I was playing bayonetta and the single player of brutal legend and they both stop working properly.
I am not going to "jump ship" since that would be throwing away all my games collection, but I will cancel all the preordered games I have if this is not corrected in the next 24 hrs.
Today is a holiday (and a long weekend) in my country, this issuecouldn't have a worst timing...
I don't understand what kind of design renders the console unusable if the PSN is down. That would mean hell will break loose if Sony pull the plug at the end of the PS3 life.
My PS3 got this issue and now I can't even play offline games (Brutal Legend reinstall every time and Bayoneta gets stuck in a "loading..." screen.
Your Blu-ray player is broken. To have Sony replace it, you should send it and it will take a few days (at best), and 175 U$S.
You can try to get a new drive and change it. The process is not difficult and there even are some videos in youtube that show it to you. You have to be careful when you buy the replace, though, because the drive in 40 GBs models is different than the ones in older versions, and I am not sure if you can plug one on the other without issues.
haha, i tried about 10 times, because I couldn't really figure out what to do.SamuRai_JeDiI knew what to do, but just couldn't do it... Everytime I tried to use the srynge, Snake would use CQC instead of using the srynge. It took me several times to get it right.
[QUOTE="The_Solid"]Prolly means less emotional stuff, cos at times it pushs you to edge.THQ88I thought MGS from the beginning was a western game though developed by japanese devs. It is not... MGS is as japanese as a high profile japanese action game could be, only that the main character happends to be american. If you see Splinter Cell, you will notice the different approaches of the same genre.
I don't think that is a bad idea. MGS4 gameplay feels a lot more cohesive because all the effort Payton did to "westernize" the game.
No, it probably should have made a price drop last year.
Price is important to move units, once they get a big fanbase they can focus on games, which is were real money is. But until then, they are not going to convince anyone to jump exclusive with them, and they keep sinking more and more in the economic crisis.
The famitsu review was less than stellar, and 1up made a hands-on preview of the japanese version. http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3172072
Apparently is good, but not that great. Aside of a battle system similar to FFXII and MMORPGs in general (which is not a good thing in my book), there are some issues that would be nice (although unlikely) if they are addressed before releasing the game in the US...
