[QUOTE="MasterMidget"]I've heard that CRT monitors at lower Hz can make you get a headache from looking at it for a while. I'm not sure about LCDs though. I don't even think they run in Hz. Correct me if I'm wrong thereshmok1165

You are such and idiot. Every monitor runs in a certain range of frequencies [Hz].

shmok, he clearly said that he wasnt 100% sure and tocorrect him if he was wrong, you don't have to be insulting

yeah,well lcd's havea response time, but not a refresh rate and they don't run on Hz. and no resolution won't affect your eyes. (not unless you are using a very high resolution on a small monitor and have to strain your eyes to see things or something silly like that)

edit:well it appears that I am wrong haha. i was under the impression that lcds were measured in hz, but that would be false i take it haha

oblivion's story isn't that great, its a great game, but there are far better story lines out there. The longest journey (2005 i think) has an amazing story (its an adventure game, very good). Try knights of the old republic 1 or 2, they are 2004 or so i think, anyway good graphics and an amazing story (you dont have to be a star wars fan at all). neverwinter knights series isnt bad, good story, knights of the old republic's story was better though i thought.

[QUOTE="Missnlink"][QUOTE="coolmonkeykid"]

This is game is terrible...according to IGN the pc version has terrible graphics, terrible framerates(on high-end pcs) and you have to have both vista and GFW gold to play...even if you don't care about all that other stuff its just another FPS game.

I can't see why anyone would blow hundreds of dollars for this.

This is an absolute lie. This game runs very well on a 6800 geforce with a amd 64 processor. The graphics are very nice and framerates are terrific imo. Play the game then form an opinion, otherwise shut your mouth.

I was not forming an opinion about the game, i was just stating what IGN had said about the pc version of the game. The thing is many people do not have Vista (yes i will get Vista eventually but not until the bugs are gone) and any people dont like games for windows.

LINK PLEASE!  the only preview i could find from ign said that the graphics were great but they didnt like the art design.

650-700 is just fine providing that doesn't include the vid card (which he is saying it doesn't).  take that system and add an 8800gts and you will be able to play most everything on highest settings

if you want a an addicting game thats lots of fun grab civ 4.  on the otherhand, in my opinion, gal civ 2 had more long term enjoyment.  civ 4 got old after a few games for me.  gal civ 2 took a bit longer to get into, once i was i played it for longer.

I had exactly the same problem.  So I uninstalled it and haven't looked at it again.  Any game demo that requires any amount of tinkering on my part simply gets deleted.  Hell, I did a Google search for d3dx9_33.dll and it came up with precisely nothing.  Not even a mention anywhere on the net.  I've got DX9.0c installed and everything else is up to date.  I can't be bothered downloading the demo file again in case the first one was corrupted somehow, but you might try that. *shrugs*RobertBowen

lol, how did you come up with nothing?? i did a quick 5 second search and got a link for the file.  in less then 5 min you could get it to work lol.  anyway, anyone wanna comment if the demo/game is any good? i know nothing about lost planet.  is it an fps?
