The article is as harsh as it is right. It really doesn't matter how many free crap Sony's going to throw at us - they have yet to prove we can trust them in security. You can bet that smart (ex) customers won't go near the store once launched. I'm saying this as someone who waited patiently to activate my copy of the best version of Portal 2.
"I got a question for the pc gamers out there. I can only assume these games are made on a pc. By people who like pc's. Everyone that is a pc gamer always says the mouse and key board is way better for gaming, but they never have made those for the consoles. Would'nt even the makers of these games who are, pc people try to lobby for a keyboard and mouse for the people who cant imaging playing a console game with those. Just wondering because that allways seems to be the case." To be fair, they made one for the SNES, and the PS3 is compatible. I'd love to see a specialized FPS controller for consoles, personally. Just like I'd like to use a 6-button controller to play fighting games or a driving wheel for driving games. I think a logical answer would be that the controller people online would scream hax.
"Karnovrpg, I don't know if you own any consoles. But I can tell you the most innovative games currently are from the Wii. Sure steam is good, and the game you just mentioned doesn't require much hardware performance. It's a physics based game with pretty good graphics and learn how to do statics and some dynamics in that. That's great news and thanks for that info. As I'll try it out too. But I want to let you know that PC is just not economically feasible to general public. If they want to enjoy hi-end games, they must need to learn how to configure a powerful but cheap system. But I know a lot of people don't have the knowledge nor time nor money to do that. Remember, Japanese used to create all these crazy innovative games that only available to consoles and arcades. Still if you look into console gaming world wide not just European and US games, Japanese games have a lot more varieties than Steam for example. It's them who created the music games. It's them who created Mario. It's also them who created Cooking mama, and many other interesting NDS games that you never even heard of in US or EU." Hey I've got tons of gaming consoles at home too, from TG16 to SNES to Dreamcast and so forth. In fact, I admit to once being a total Sega fanboy (and we know just what happened to them!) What I'm trying to say is, the PC is a very flexible gaming machine and there is WAY more to it than just graphic-gushing FPS games. Personally, I enjoy the point-and-click adventure genre, which of course isn't quite as abundant on consoles. If you want more gaming variety that you can actually run, might I suggest an account to GOG.com.
"Also, PC games actually have a lot LESS varieties nowadays compare to any type of consoles. Because most of the innovated game developers are aiming for general public and they are willing to try out the latest game concepts on the most popular systems instead of PC. I have already seen this phenomonen more than 10 years ago. It's Japanese back in the days started the popularity on game consoles successfully world wide. Sine NES and SNES, playstation, etc. PC gamers you can keep yourself to FPS and RTS genre, but you don't have innovative games like Mario Galaxy to enjoy. I suggest you get yourself all three consoles and also keep your PC Hardware up to the latest date before making all these bashings on console gamers. Sometimes you just need to experience it yourself." Wrong. There's plenty of innovation in PC gaming if you just look, hell, most of the games on Steam, like World of Goo, are unique. You DON'T need a high end PC to play some good games. Most people can only afford to have one console (that's where the 360 vs. PS3 rivalries begin). As far as Mario Galaxy...good luck finding that on 360 or PS3!
