[QUOTE="LongZhiZi"]

What a ridiculously asinine argument.

I live in a poor country (though I'm American). I have friends whose families live on about a dollar or two a day. You want to see all those problems in action? Come here- I'll be happy to show you. Oh, and hilariously enough, it's one of the countries in green on your little map...so by your standard, they're better than us. It's clear to me that you've never actually traveled to other places (and no, visitng the capital city of any country doesn't count as those are always the most developed of the whole country if it's a poor country).

I remember my first time coming here was when I was a student in 2005. One of the other girls hated George W Bush, who had just been reelected. After being here for several weeks and seeing the things we did, she concluded that the US isn't that bad at all, even under a president which she hated.

bigfootstew

Great. The US is slightly better than living in a third world hellhole. But compared to Western Europe and Canada, it is a third world hellhole.

I guess we should just settle with being way behind the rest of the developed world.

And meritocracy is awesome. Screw those poor people. It's their fault for being so poor and not having health insurance.

MOVE THEN! Geez. If you don't like America so much, then leave. Good riddance.

[QUOTE="rikkustrife"]

well are there people that get obsessed with it, and become rapist, and don't realise what they are doing is wrong

i don't know about tiger woods though

dog64

Tiger Woods is supposedly a sex addict for having so many affairs. But you hear of people having affairs all the time, and they're not automatically viewed as sex addicts. Granted, Tiger may of had a good number of affairs, but I think that just shows he has no control of himself in that way.

Yea, Tiger Woods might really have a problem. It seems as if he does, but no one knows but him. :?

Something in me just tells me its wrong. I have never been comfortable around gay men and I'm not sure if I ever will. Before you hate on me I seriously tried to be friends with a few, but it just disturbed me. Idk if that makes me a bad person. :?

Teenaged

No imo it doesnt.

What we feel intuitively about someone or some people cant be changed by force.

The general point is to not let our impulsive feelings affect the people those feelings are directed at. For instance a person can be awkard around gay people and feel strange with the whole issue but still has a neutral stance when it comes to actions taken to things pertaining to homosexuality. So I guess one could say its about respect.

I dont know how the gay people you met where. Perhaps they were flamboyant and that made you feel awkward. Perhaps they werent at all and only the thought made you feel awkward anyway.

But I hope you find gay people that will change your mind and with which you will be friends. :)

they were definitely flamboyant. And I do think that played a role. Maybe if I meet a few that weren't so...how do I say it....femine... :?

I kinda wish I could've had the chance to fight in WW2 because I think it would make me really proud, but, I guess '91 is fine. :)
