I had a horrible experience with the Bestbuy warranty and now recommend against it.When I bought it I was told I'm buying the Replacement plan (the one to exchange right then and there) and then when I went to returned it they said i was only given the Product Service Plan, in which case they send it away and say it can take 4-6 weeks. They wouldn't let me pay a difference between the PSP and the PRP. I questioned what the point of paying $60 for a 2 year planm with them when they send away is when I am covered for 3 years by MS for free, then it's all done out of my house and I don't have to make an extra trip then the supervisor tried telling me that it's only one year from MS. I told her she can check it and then she said she doesn't have to because she knows for a fact that it's one year, I was guaranteeing her that it's 3 years and she kept refusing to check. They wouldn't even just give me a store credit or anything, so I wasted $60 on their POS plan and never plan on buying one again, this goes along with my brother being screwed on one for his TV and my buddy being screwed with his iPod one.
As for your questions though
1) they just took my word
2) They made sure I had my HDD with me, they know that you need it for saves

You are wrong, i also work for best buy, the 360 has a Replacement plan not a service plan, i have worked in game since 05 and through all 3 console launches and we have always used replacement plans. Tvs and some ipods have service plans
