STALKER is a great game. Its very atmospheric an a bit disturbing in places, it gives me the creeps! Anyway, if you have Vista don't bother with this game as it will only run for a couple of mins even with the 1.4 patch.
The list is looking really good. And to think not long ago the consol fanboys said PC gaming is dying! 2007 is a great year for PC gaming and it looks like 2008 will be great as well.
Yes they are very important. But as long as the gameplay is good as well. Having said that games like Portal which are based on 3 year old technology and don't look as neat as current games, is one of the best games I have ever played.
