Would you buy a stand alone version of the Splinter Cell Multiplayer "Spies Vs. Mercs" mode? I recently got the bug to play that and since no one really plays anymore I just ended up playing with some bots. But anyway, if they re-imagined the whole mode with updated graphics, gadgets, gameplay, maps etc... would you purchase it for $60?

Just wanted to see what everyone's reaction would be. If the gameplay were different enough, I'd cough up the cash. I know were used to getting a single player campaign along with multiplayer, but conviction is taking so loong to develop and they are barely releasing any new details. This may hold over some loyal fans.

Here's my plan B:

I have the AMD 780G chipset which is crossfire compatible. It looks like I can pick up a decent ATI HD series card for cheap, and run that together with my HD3200.

Here's advice all you PC gamers can use. Don't ever attempt to fix your computer while sitting and laying yourself and your computer on the carpeted floor. It just ends in fire and smoke.

So my computer just recently fried, and if I sold the salvaged parts and my monitor, I should be able to get at the very least $300.

I'm pretty tired of desktops so I figured I should get a laptop next. Do you guys have any reccomendations of where I can get a decent gaming laptop. My budget is probably between $1000-1300.

Thanks

So i got the three red lights over a week ago and I've been trying to get it fixed, but man microsoft is being a pain.

Their supposed to send me an e-mail with a prepaid packing slip, that i can tape to a box to get free shipping. I waited over 5 days for the e-mail and I never got anything. So i decided to call back, and they were decided to start the whole process over, and this time, promising me that I would get the e-mail within 24 hours. It's now been over 3 days, and I still havent recxeived anything. It's a pain too, cuz i got such a busy work week, that I only have time to visit the post office on the weekends.

HAs anyone ever experience this?

ya I agree. I guess I cant bblame him for the red lights, but that was definitely disrepsectful. You don't throw other people's stuff, especially when your in their freakin home. But you know, there are a lot of jerks out there, and unfortuantely some of them happen to be our friends as well.

Just got off the phone with Xbox support. I thought that they sent you a box to ship it with? The guy told me that they were gonna send me a prepaid shipping label to my e-mail and that I had to get my own box to ship it in. What happened to the coffin? I mean not to ba big whiner or anything but, now I have to go get a box and some packing material.

Oh and one more question. So my console has the hdmi port in the back, if I dont get the same system back, will i at least get a system with an HDMI port? Just curious if anyone has any previous experience with this.

Ya you guys are probably right, it's just such a weird coincidence. Like most things, I felt better after some sleep. I fired up my 360 this morning hoping that it got fixed in some miraculous fashion, but after playing for 10 mins, the game froze then I got the red lights again.

Oh well, it'll give me some time to get to know the PS3. The funny thing is, is when I got the PS3 I hardly even touched it. But that might have to do with the fact that I don't own any games for it at the moment:P. I'm sure that will change when I get MGS4.

On a side note, I was one of those people who practically prayed for MGS4to come out for the 360. Now that I have one, I was like...wow I dont have to worry abut that anymore. I can actually get it now! Those for you who are still hoping, I hope it does come out for the 360 because it seems to be like one of those games that everyone should have a chance to play. I'll stop now, because thats probably a topic for another post.

I just really need to vent out some anger, so if you do not want to wast your time, go ahead and click outta here.

So I'm sitting in my room playing videogames with some friends, and i'm playing with a buddy mine, a "friendly" game of NBA 2K8. I am completely trashing his team. Out of frustration, he rips off the battery pack from my controller, pulls the charge cable off, and throws my controller on the floor. So im obviously pretty furious, but not too mad because i know my controller looked fine.

I turn off the system, turn it on, and then BAM! Three....red...lights....

Freaked out, I jump up, turn my system on, then turn it on again. No red lights. Phew! What a close call. We continue to just mess around with some arcade games, when my 360 decides to freeze. I thought to myself...thats odd, that must be the first time it ever froze.

So after that we decided to watch Jumper down in the living room. Which must be the worst possible movie to come out this year ( A rock shows better emotion than Hayden Christiansen.)

Movie ends, friends leave, and I decide to check out whats new in the marketplace. I push the button, and there they are once again, but this time permanently. The three red lights.

I call my friend, and he denies the whole thing. He doesn't deny what he did, but he denies that his actions could not have been the cause. I want to believe him, but why is it that my 360 has been working flawlessly, but after what he did, I just happened to get the three red lights right after. My 360 freezes, then I get the error again. It may just be a huge coincidence, but one things is for sure, it is a really crappy situation.

Oh well...on the brightside, I happened to receive a PS3 from my dad who won it at work. I'v been dying to play MGS4, so at least I can get through that while my 360 is being repaired.

If you actually bothered to read all this, then I'm sorry that you probably wasted your time. If your mad...well no one put a gun to your head and forced you. Just be glad you don't have the three red lights, because before all this even I believed that I was immune.

you know what? critics, gamers, everyone basically ragged on this game, like it was the worst thing ever. I tried the demo, I enjoyed it, so i bought the game? And you know what? The game is definitely fun, its not perfect, but i paid $60 and i still think it was worth it. Just try the demo, and see what you think, all the main game mechanics are there to try out.

You know in a perfect world, every gamer would own all the systems but financially its a very tough decision to make. Considering a PS3 costs about $399, a 360 around $399 (not positive about this one) and a Wii $249, thats over $1000 to buy all three. Thats not even including accesories, games, and etc.

So can you really expect people who have to pay bills every month, take care of their kids, and etc. to even consider that? What about the younger generation who are too young to even have jobs yet, unless their spoiled rotten, theirs almost no way for them to have all three.

So the reason people clamor, argue, and fight over these systems, is because most people will only choose 1 console, or usually at most 2. The system you purchase, you support it and you want it to do well. And unfortunately, in some people's eyes, in order for their system to do well, they need to be clobbering the other platforms.

But hey, if you can afford all three, thats awsome, but you can't expect everyone to do the same.

im definitely a bit jealous, ive been playing Metal Gear games since the PS1 days. But it's definitely not strong enough for me to go buy a PS3. Cmon kojima, bring MGS4 to the 360! I dont care if it'll take 10 dvd's lol
