During Microsoft's reveal gamers tuned in and were so involved in what was happening on the presentation monitor that they forgot to assess one thing, the game pad. One can note that the gamepad took a backseat (similar to Sony's conference) as all the functionality shown during the conference was done through the Kinect interface. Was this intentional? Yes. Microsoft Made it clear that the conference would simply be a console reveal, leaving the games for E3 which for any dedicated gamer would be a good thing. The conference went well, but the problem is a lot of gamers are unaware of the bullet Microsoft intentionally shielded us from with the company's early console reveal. Following in Nintendo's footsteps, Microsoft made a decision to improve the effectiveness of their presence at E3 by having a stronger focus on what's important to gamers, which is games. The company knew that by getting the console reveal and all the non-gaming subjects that would inevitably follow in discussion out of the way early it could have a strong focus on games during E3. With all the above being said I'm baffled as to why the media didn't clarify Microsoft's intentions, leaving a number of gamers to be frustrated and confused. Thanks for reading, and don't forget to tune in to E3 to find out all you need to know about the future of gaming for Microsoft.
