I've noticed that the clock on my PS3 is an hour off. I live in the central time zone, but it displays the mountain time zone. It's always an hour behind. Oh well, I have a clock right next to the TV so I don't care that much.I set my clock using the internet for my ps3 and it is the right time. But after a week it is a couple minutes off. And after a few months it was almost ten minutes off. Sure I can just update it but I don't like doing that every month. Am I the only one getting this or is this just one of those things that is going to keep happening?

[QUOTE="The_Rick_14"]I would agree Monkey, but they aren't doing it as a monthly thing. It's a yearly subscription which moves away from the micro-transaction model. While it is a stat tracker, it seems like the real focus of Elite is to direct competition. It sounds like there will always be competitions going on from anything from send in the funniest picture to get the most headshots in the next 24 hours and they are accompanied by anything from an emblem for your playercard or a Jeep. We'll have to see how it all plays out, but it may give people nice side goals to keep things fresh.MonkeySpot
No, but they ARE getting folks used to paying on a regular, renewing basis which is pay-to-play no matter how the payments break down. I think it's fine for the faithful, but I don't really need it for how often I play a CoD game. I would say if it's your thing, roll with it. But like the EA Online Pass, this is setting some dangerous precendents.

Gaming is going from a "packaged-goods" model to a "service delivery" model. The industry has figured it out that, rather than sell you the complete game on one disc for $60 upfront, it's better for them to keep you paying small monthly amounts forever. Like a hamster on a wheel. It saddens me to see the nickel and dimming that has crept its way into gaming. It boggles the mind how it stays afloat. Most gamers I know are appalled at all the money grubbing going on in the industry. From my understanding, it's a stat-tracking system, social service, DLC delivery system, etc. all rolled into one package. Halo has something similar, and it's completely free. COD Elite is nothing I would spend $60 for. It just encourages more nickel and dimming on the part of publishers. Besides, I'm more of a SP fan anyway, so this doesn't appeal to me.I'm considering getting call of duty elite, not for the DLCs rather for the competitions. I know that there will be in game and real life prizes, and there are competitions everyday but does anyone know what the prizes include? Or what types of competitions there are?
Thanks :)

I can understand your fatigue with the genre. I feel the same way at times, but I'm a sucker for "finishing the story." Especially when it comes to COD.Modern Warfare 2 and Bad Company 2 were the last shooters I'll be buying for a while. I'm kinda tired of the genre.

I've committed myself to not spending maybe more than $10 on PSN, or any other digital distribution service. I prefer not to drop copious amounts of cash on things I don't physically own,Mine was a $84.99 a month purchase of NFL Sunday Ticket.

I have to agree with you there. As I've gotten older I've found myself more and more interested in the SP rather than MP. Maybe I'm just jaded, but I can't justify spending $60 on games anymore. I'll give BF 3 a rental for sure though.even with all i've heard of the multiplayer beta, all this time i've been more interested in the campaign, so it hasn't changed my view on buying it in the least
