Okay, and the other consoles have better games, the 360 for instance

Halo 3

Halo keep it Clean

Final Fantasy 13

Banjo Nuts and Bolts

Fable

seriosly now?

Gamer4535

Wait wait wait.....what? Your comparing those games to the entire back catalogue of games available on the Wii? Are you insane? Even the most rabid fanboy couldn't substantiate that, no matter how much crazy logic they used. I enjoyed Fable as much as the next guy, but seriously?

Maybe if you included some of the Live Arcade games like Duke Nukem 3d and stuff you might have a shot (Even tho it's stull subjective, and the Wii has some of the greatest games of their time such as OoT, Paper Mario, and Mario 64 availabe for download)

I've played all three, but I only own Halo 3 so thats the one I will focus on:

I dislike Halo 3 because

A> The weapons feel like toys, the only ones that feel remotley powerful are the grav hammer and the spartan laser.
B> The enemies are boring as hell to kill, it's like shooting a teddy bear with a nerf gun
C> The people who DO like halo, claim it has the best story ever and that it revolutionized the FPS genre (Which it most certainly did not). This doesn't really reflect to baddly on the game itself, but it's irritating none the less.
D> It is the same freaking game as the last two
E> It feels like a chore to play, it may be just me, but it's just so boring that it's kinda like "come on, be over already, I thought this game was supposed to be exciting"

I do however, like the Multiplayer sometimes. It's my 10y/o brother in laws favorite game of all time so I end up playing coop or vs with him alot.

Hell to be honest, I enjoyed Kane and Lynch a hell of a lot more than any of the Halo games, and that got what? A 6 or something on GS? At least it was interesting!!!!! or GeOW, that game was wicked.

DirectX is an API package. It's Direct3D that people always talk about.Arnalion

Direct 3D only deals with rendering, and that's a non-issue at this point since I doubt DX10 has exausted all it's capabilities this early in it's life cycle. The interesting thing about DX11 will be how it interfaces with the hardware, how the APIs for various functionalities are actually implemented.

YES!!!!!! LOAD BALANCING!!!!

Do you know what this means?????????? GPUs have more floating point processing power than any CPU available and their memory is fast as hell. Being able to shift physics or other calculations to the gpu is going to drastically increase what we can do with current gen tech (Think HD4900 series). No more issues with abstraction and trying to utilize the gfx card for more than just rendering, the DX API should take care of the load balancing with specialized functions.

[QUOTE="Dr-Doctor"]

Oh well at least you can still play old classics such as Doom, Monkey Island, Alpha Centauri etc etc

P.S. I am not being sarcastic.

hamidious

I think everyone who has a PC has to play the most best RPG of all time (always shows in top 10 games of all time), Planescape Torment, I'm replaying it now, and guess what, I love it more than Crysis and the Witcher.

Oh yea!!! Cutter!!!

Dude Planescape: Torment, Baldurs Gate Series, IceWind Dale series, Elder-scrolls Series, NWN Series, Gothic Series, Kotor Series.......Best RPG lineup ever.(Oh and Temple of Elemental Evil if you want the closest thing to core rules in a semi-modern crpg).

[QUOTE="AgentH"]

[QUOTE="mo0ksi"]Even the raw power of a PC can't fufill Kojima's expectations here. Crysis and Far Cry 2 barely scratch the surface compared to what he's talking about.AgentH

No one will mention either of these games in 10 years time like they did with MGS1 and FFVII. I'm sorry but the games you mentioned won't add a thing to gaming history. MGS and FF did.

What the hell does this have to do with that I posted? I'm just saying that FC2 and Crysis aren't technologically advanced enough to fufill Kojima's expectations of a next-level of gaming. No game has reached that level. Nothing more.

Maybe for YOU MGS1 and FF7 added something to gaming history. But for me they're just great games that didn't do anything spectacular, but fun while they last.

And don't even think about talking about MGS' stealth utilization because Thief: The Dark Project did a better job and it came out the same year.

Ok first of all, stealth started with the very first Metal Gear back in 1987. Secondly, what's so special about MGS1 is its storyline, creative boss battles(Psycho Mantis for instance) considering the time it was released in(more than a decade ago) and hardware limits that game was developed on, that was a HUGE leap my friend. Let me remind you that before MGS1, we were playing Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the dragon and Tomb Raider. So the introdcution of MGS1 which had awesome cutscenes, storyline, characters, music, creative boss battles was a huge leap over most games on the PS1 back then. Not to mention it introduced stealth to the 90s consoles and the COVER system that most games are utilizing now. When you want to mention MGS1, go back to the time it was released in and compare it to the other games in the market then come back and tell me it didn't add a thing to gaming. I am ready to go in details to prove my point buddy. From the game mechanics, to the storyline, to the cutscenes, characters, music and boss battles. Ready when you are.

He didn't say Theif was the first stealth game, he said it was better than MGS1, and to be honest I agree. MGS was a breakthrough title, but I really don't understand what people see it in it's convoluted story line...you want a good story line? Planescape bruth.
