The default high settings were smooth on 1440p for me, but when I tried going all max it was quite unbearable, not that it looked much better either.
The game itself has been nothing short of great so far, been going ironman+commander and it's going surprisingly well for a first run, hope the difficulty picks up as the first game was the hardest at start at least on impossible.
It's just easier to develop for set hardware consoles now that they are x86 platforms as well, then just slap half ass pc version out of the door in worst cases. PC market is growing all the time and no piracy is not killing it(or has one of the denuvo games suddenly sold a lot? no). Sure the competition is tougher on PC when the sheer number of games available is massive compared to consoles. Most of the AAA games are selling more and more on PC so it would be quite stupid for the devs to not take care of their PC versions properly, just look at WB and how their next game is going to sell on pc..
As some1 who plays mostly on PC, exclusives on consoles: Yes it has been, Wii U been ok, haven't bothered getting xbone yet because there's nothing on it, ps4 has Bloodborne and I've maybe played it for um 100+ smt hours but that's it.
But this year should be big, planning on picking xbone when Quantum Break hits, ps4 getting great games like Uncharted 4, Last Horizon etc
