the "legacy of kain" series is the standard i hold all games to story wise.

they set the current curve and no game is able to get over a C+ because of Kain in my classroom.

just full of griping, well acted bliss. the ending to 2 is one of my fav endings in all media.

honorable mention to the cod4 nuke scene, it left me flabergasted first time i experienced it.

Why won't you be able to play these games in three months?  You can hold off buying a new system for a while if you want to get all the new games for this gen this year.  Plus, current gen games will still be made next year, just look at Dark Souls 2, which I don't think has a next gen release.

Now, I am holding back getting all the new games for this gen, but I intend on getting into them early next year when the price drops come (though I am torn between Killzone Mercenary and GTA V this september).  I think all these games coming out may not sell as well, at least initially, as people are going to be putting money aside for next gen, but it is easy enough to think it through as a consumer and plan how to get both this gen games and into next gen. 

Also, I believe you mentioned The Last of Us, I'd definitely say keep this as a rental, I bought it and don't think it's worth getting at $60.  I don't know, something about it didn't work for me, and the whole zombie/infected thing just felt trendy, like they were thinking "the walking dead is super popular, let's make our own version."

i really love my memories of plok

and i recently had a strong urgh to play it again

needless to say, after 10 mins my "childhood memories" couldnt keep my interest

but to be fair, if i wasnt getting my ass handed to me, i prolly would have enjoyed it more

nostalgia can be as important a factor as any other, but like everything else, to each his own and i rather keep nostalgia in my memories so i dont really care too much.

seeing as the xbox one and ps4 wont play this gen titles, im very reluctant to buy titles for this gen anymore.

gta5, last of us, beyound 2 souls, etc all gonna be rented cause i cant justify buying a game for a console im gonna upgrade and be unable to play on.

now that i know "spies vs mercs" is back in splinter cell (and it looks like its more like chaos theory so im really excited) i may get that for the ps3, but other than that i wont be buying any more current gen titles (aside from wiiu, handhelds)

im not mad or anything over ms and sonys decision to not make them BC (im a lil pissed xbla and psn titles wont be BC tho), im not doing this out of protest, im just acting according to what i feel makes more sense for me, and buying games i wont be able to play in 3 months makes no sense imo.

i loved it

it was a fun ride

i didnt think it was scary, but i still loved the horror setting and design

switching characters on the fly made combat more involved and rarely boring

it had its faults, but i dont remember any of the bad things about the game, just the good times

nothing wrong with cheating in single player games for ur own enjoyment

i wish there was a way to do it legitly, but to the best of my knowledge there is not
